Anybody have Steam Spring Sale recommendations? Not looking to spend more than $10USD ideally, though if there’s a really good deal on a really good game, then I may bite.

First I recommend using isthereanydeal.com and Steamdb.info to see best offers, sometimes you can find better offers from official key sites. Steamdb only shows offers on Steam, but you can also filter and sort by ratings so easier to find goodish games.

Seeing JEMC's post I'll put the non-violent games on top, the ones that contain violence are on the bottom in case someone else might be interested in them.

Shift Happens - 1.5 euro. Co-op platformer, also can be played singleplayer but I don't think it is as fun that way.

Cozy Grove - 4.4 euro. Similar to Animal Crossing, only your neighbors are ghost bears and you have to help them move on.

Into the Emberlands - 3 euro, more of a lighthearted exploration, survival game. You have a lantern that keeps the darkness away, the survival comes from if you run out of fuel before returning to town the darkness gets you. And then you just start with a new character.

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles - 3.4 euro. Open world adventure with focus on restoring the world.

Grow: Song of the Evertree - 7.5 euro. Similar to the above, but bigger.

Paleo Pines - 7.5 euro. Farming games with cute small dinosaurs.

Stardew Valley - 7 euro. The farming game on PC.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered - 3 euro. Point and click adventure game.

Disneyland Adventures - 5 euro. Explore Disneyland park and interact with various characters. Also has lots of minigames.

LEGO Bricktales - 3.6 euro. Lego puzzle game.

Beacon Pines - 5.8 euro. Adventure game with a pop-up book setting.

Cookie Clicker - 2.5 euro. Click the cookie, clicker game.

Swordship - 1 euro. Play as a speedy ship to collect cargo while dodging enemy fire.

Sable - 6 euro. Adventure game with exploring a desert and some platforming mixed in.

Submerged - 2 euro, and Submerged: Hidden Depths - 2.9 euro. Exploration games set in a world submerged by water.

Escape Academy - 4.2 euro. Escape game.

Stacking - 2 euro. Puzzle game with stacking dolls.

Spiritfarer - 4.3 euro. Cozy management game where you ferry the souls of the dead.

NAIAD - 10 euro. Relaxing game about navigating a water nymph down a river.

de Blob - 5 euro. Paint the town, literally.

The Wild at Heart - 7.5 euro. Similar to Pikmin games.

Neighbours Back From Hell - 5 euro. Puzzle game where you play pranks on your neighbor.

The Sexy Brutale - 5 euro. Puzzle game where you have to prevent murders while stuck in a time-loop.

A Boy and His Blob - 3.5 euro. Just a boy and his blob in a platformer.

Helltaker - free. Puzzle game with lady demons dressed in suits.

Pantsu Hunter: Back to the 90s - 1.2 euro. Somewhat erotic point and click game.

Violent-ish games start here.

Psychonauts - 2 euro.

Thunder Ray - 1.2 euro on Indiegala. Punch-Out on PC.

Cat Quest - 2.6 euro. RPG where you are a humanoid cat. The sequels are also worth checking out.

Potion Permit - 7 euro. You play as a chemist, really more of an alchemist, gather resources to make potions to heal sick townsfolks.

Star Control: Origins - 5.5 euro. Space adventure game.

Starcom: Nexus - 8.3 euro, has been cheaper so best to wait for a better deal. Space adventure game similar to Star Control.

Coromon - 4.6 euro. Good Pokemon-like game.

Nexomon - 4 euro. Another good Pokemon-like game.

Nexomon: Extinction - 5 euro. Sequel to the above, really enjoyed the story.

Dokimon - 2.2 euro. If you haven't caught on I rally like creature collector games.

Monster Sanctuary - 5 euro. Another creature collector with the twist that view is from the side.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - 3 euro. Tactical RPG.

Costume Quest 1 & 2 Bundle - 4 euro. The costume the characters were determine what skills they have in battles.

WrestleQuest - 5.8 euro. Fun RPG focuses on wrestling.

Dodgeball Academia - 7.5 euro. This time RPG focused on dodgeball.

Grotesque Tactics Complete Pack - 1.4 euro for three games. I found the first one to be the most enjoyable.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas - 7.5 euro. Similar to the Legend of Zelda games.

King's Bounty: The Legend - 1 euro. Turn-based strategy dame. Has been recently updated. Also check out other games in series.

Gigapocalypse - 1.3 euro. Kaiju side-scroller.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake - 2 euro. Rail-shooter where you ride a dragon, or creature similar enough to a dragon.

Aragami - 4 euro, Aragami 2 - 6.8 euro. Fun stealth games.

Brutal Legend - 3 euro. Action-adventure game with an emphasis on rock&roll. Also has some strategy elements which are rather divisive.

The Last Federation - 4.8 euro. Your species where annihilated, to be fair they were kind of jerks to the others, you have to unite the other civilizations in a federation.

Children of Morta - 3.2 euro. Fun roguelike to play with a friend.

ONE PIECE PIRATE WARRIORS 3 Gold Edition - 5.2 euro. Captures the feel of the manga fights very well.

Destroy All Humans! - 6 euro. Harvest humans for their sweet DNA.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse - 4 euro. You are the zombie, make friends turning others into zombies.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning - 10 euro. RPG game with some interesting mechanics.

Smalland: Survive the Wilds - 10.5 euro. Survival crafting game, with the twist that you are very tiny. Can tame insects.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - 4 euro. It is not that bad if you treat it as a spin-off rather than a main series game.

Spells & Secrets - 3.2 euro. Harry Potter at home, roguelike game with magic spells.

Hogwarts Legacy - 9 euro. I really think it captures the world of Harry Potter rather well. The castle is amazing to explore.

Sunset Overdrive - 5 euro. Shooter with parkour, just remember to disable cloud saves as the that corrupts them.

Shakedown: Hawaii - 3 euro. Similar to the classic GTA games, the 2D ones, with Vice City vibes. Lots of focus on purchasing property.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered - 3 euro. Very cheap for how much content it has.

Everlasting Summer - free. Visual novel where you are transported to a Soviet pioneer camp.

The following are games that I have bought this sale, but have not had time to play them.

Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare - 6 euro

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate - 2.8 euro

Bionic Heart - 2.5 euro

Beastmancer - 2 euro

428: Shibuya Scramble - 5 euro

Gorogoa - 3.5 euro

MX Nitro: Unleashed - 0.8 euro

The Last Spell - 2.5 euro

Mini Motor Racing X - 1.2 euro

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered - 5 euro

Anode Heart - 4.3 euro

SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS

This week, the Epic Store gives away:

There’ll be only one free game next week, at least for now, and it will be Clone Drone in the Danger Zone .

The guys at Humble has two new deals:

Fanatical’s Spring Sale is over (or almost), and that means that we go back to the usual deals, like:

Crimson Desert Just Got a Camera Overhaul Mod
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/crimson-desert-just-got-a-camera-overhaul-mod/
Modder ‘Maszradine’ has released a cool new mod for Crimson Desert that aims to overhaul its third-person camera system. This mod makes a lot of changes to the default camera system. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
First of all, the CDCamera – Camera Overhaul for Crimson Desert mod lets you lock the camera so it doesn’t constantly zoom out or tilt while you’re moving. This is something that annoyed a lot of players. As of now, I’m not sure whether the devs plan to add an option for this. So if you’re not a fan of the zoom-in/zoom-out behavior, this mod will let you disable it.
The mod also brings some new camera styles. For instance, you can find a lower camera style that is inspired by The Witcher 3 and God of War. There is a Western camera style that is inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. There is also an over-the-shoulder camera that is inspired by Resident Evil 2 Remake.
And that’s not all. The mod allows you to change the FOV. It can also provide a wider view during combat. Additionally, it offers a Bane Mode that will center your character on screen.
>> The article has an over 2 minutes video of the mod.

Marvel Rivals producer says 'it's not the time' for original heroes, the devs are more concerned with its UI
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/marvel-rivals-producer-says-its-not-the-time-for-original-heroes-the-devs-are-more-concerned-with-its-ui/
Marvel Rivals' roster is growing rapidly, and with two heroes per season, one for each half, NetEase is quickly running through the list of fan-favourite superheroes. Luckily, Marvel has more than enough to go around, which means NetEase can hold off on making any original heroes for the time being.
While NetEase does have the greenlight to make original heroes for Marvel Rivals, producer Danny Koo simply says that "it's not the time" for that right now as they already have "so many" known heroes lined up at least until season 8 (via IGN).

Marathon is rescheduling its frustrating endgame, but you're still against the clock: 'No schedule is perfect, but we're here to listen and learn'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/marathon-is-rescheduling-its-frustrating-endgame-but-youre-still-against-the-clock-no-schedule-is-perfect-but-were-here-to-listen-and-learn/
Marathon's endgame is great. There's the intense PvPvE puzzling of Cryo Archive, including a boss fight against the Compiler for unique gear, and then there's Ranked, which gives you the chance to loot and shoot your way up the ladder.
(...)
"We’ve heard your feedback," Bungie states in a post on X, "having Ranked and Cryo Archive overlap can make it difficult to decide where to spend your time and hard-earned loot."
With this in mind, Bungie is changing the schedule for both modes ahead of their second appearance.

Fortnite producer asks for patience as developers 'pick up the pieces' after massive layoffs: 'We cannot even fully understand what kind of impacts this will have on the game for the rest of the year and likely beyond'

Yesterday's layoff of more than 1,000 employees at Epic Games was driven in part by behind-the-scenes issues with Fortnite: Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said that "despite Fortnite remaining one of the most successful games in the world, we've had challenges delivering consistent Fortnite magic with every season." Very roughly, 20% of Epic's workforce was let go—the studio said just over 4,000 people remained at Epic following the layoff—and in the wake of that very deep cut, Fortnite producer Robby Williams is asking for patience while developers "pick up the pieces" and try to figure out what comes next.

Infamous World of Warcraft guild exploits its way to a world first in new Midnight raid until Blizzard says its instant 300 million damage doesn't count
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/world-of-warcraft/infamous-world-of-warcraft-guild-exploits-its-way-to-a-world-first-in-new-midnight-raid-until-blizzard-says-its-instant-300-million-damage-doesnt-count/
The first World of Warcraft Midnight raid race is on and Blizzard has already had to disqualify one group of players for breaking the rules.
While players from around the world race to gear up and take down the boss Chimaerus in the recently released Dreamrift raid, a guild known as RAoV QA Strikes Back walked right in and took first place using exploits. Their names went up on Blizzard's hall of fame list before being removed a few hours later.
>> And a player has found that it costs 25 gold more for them per dungeon to use their mitigation (link).

Arc Raiders players aren't happy with the Flashpoint update's direction as Embark drops a teaser showing the Shredder escape from Stella Montis: 'Shredders are the new Arc aren’t they'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/arc-raiders-players-arent-happy-with-the-flashpoint-updates-direction-as-embark-drops-a-teaser-showing-the-shredder-escape-from-stella-montis-shredders-are-the-new-arc-arent-they/
Arc Raiders' upcoming Flashpoint update launches on March 31, less than a week from now. For this Embark has promised players a new map condition, arc threat, player project, and a Scrappy update. Despite being just days away we haven't heard too much about the free update, with the latest detail drop teasing the migration of Shredders from Stella Montis.
(...)
In fact, many players aren't that happy about this update. It's not because they can be annoying as all hell to deal with, being finicky bastards that turn the hallways of Stella Montis into a Saw trap. Instead players are worried that this will count towards the promise of a new arc in the Flashpoint update.

Star Wars Zero Company devs said 'there were some fights' about its story-centric squadmates suffering permadeath, but accepting that 'Star Wars is about loss' made the game stronger
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/strategy/star-wars-zero-company-devs-said-there-were-some-fights-about-its-story-centric-squadmates-suffering-permadeath-but-accepting-that-star-wars-is-about-loss-made-the-game-stronger/
Our hands-on preview of Star Wars Zero Company might've left us convinced that it's more than just Star Wars XCOM, but just like with clone troopers and bounty hunters, there's clearly some crucial DNA being shared. As with XCOM, Zero Company's rogue padawans and plucky astromechs will risk permadeath whenever they take the field.
While permadeath provides some high stakes for Zero Company's heavier narrative focus, some—like Zero Company narrative lead Aaron Contreras—initially thought the stakes would be too high. But in an interview with PC Gamer, Contreras said he and the writing team ultimately accepted that it made for stronger Star Wars storytelling.

Dying Light: The Beast's new mode means the zombies you kill won't respawn… but neither will all the loot you need to survive
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/dying-light-the-beasts-new-mode-means-the-zombies-you-kill-wont-respawn-but-neither-will-all-the-loot-you-need-to-survive/
It always felt a little odd to me in Dying Light: The Beast that Kyle Crane could arrive in the little town of Castor Woods, spend all his spare time stomping and slashing thousand zombies into goop… and have essentially no effect on anything.
(...)
Until now. A free update to Dying Light: The Beast called Restored Land adds an interesting twist to Kyle's zombie parkour adventure. In this new mode, if you kill a zombie, it stays dead. Forever. Clear a building and it'll stay cleared. Wipe out the monsters in dark zones, hives, and convoys, and they'll never come back. Finally, Kyle's zombie-stomping boots have a permanent effect on the world.
Here's the tough part of the deal, though: while those dead zeds won't respawn, neither will all the loot Kyle uses to craft gear, weapons, and supplies. That little shop a block from Town Hall you'd crouch-slide into every day to fill your pockets with resources? You can only raid that store once. After that, it stays empty. Killing every zombie on the map just got a bit harder, huh?

Final Fantasy 14's Japanese age rating gets a bump, and it's all because of screenshots
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/mmo/final-fantasy-14s-japanese-age-rating-gets-a-bump-and-its-all-because-of-screenshots/
Final Fantasy 14's had its age rating in Japan increased—and it might be because people can't stop taking sexy pictures of their catgirls.
Alright, that's not literally the reason, but it's potentially a root cause. In a recent blog post, Square Enix explained that the long-standing MMO would be increasing its age rating—which is called CERO in Japan—from CERO C to CERO D.

My theory is their strategy changed when the new guy was put in charge of Radeon. Before he was put on, Radeon did support FSR on their older generations and we know FSR4 was being developed for RDNA 3 due to the build leak so the R&D was already done. So it's super likely that the only reason FSR4 isn't on older generations is strictly due to it being a management decision and I am not sure if it will change at this point.

Well, from what I understood, it seems that AMD/Sony really work tightly. But from what Cerny said, FSR4 model is similar, but not the same as PSSR2.

Maybe...whatever they are doing, they are not doing themselves any favours - due to major difference at the time in price of 9060XT with 3 fans and 5060Ti with 3 fans (those Gigabyte 9060XT cards are fairly quiet even under full load), I ended up buying in the end two 9060XT (I'm managing 4 gaming PCs, so I can't go wild as I would like to)...but, even though it doesn't affect me personally, their decision not to release FSR4 for RDNA2/3 really rubs me the wrong way.
