Anybody have Steam Spring Sale recommendations? Not looking to spend more than $10USD ideally, though if there’s a really good deal on a really good game, then I may bite.

If you're not familiar with Grim Dawn yet, it's a steal at 2.49 € (probably the same in USD). I haven't really played this particular Worms game almost at all, but Worms W.M.D is available for 1.49 € (also probably the same in USD), which is also a steal. I imagine many still consider Worms Armageddon to be the best in the series, and it's definitely still fun. Not sure how enjoyable the Worms games are in single-player, but if you can find people to play with, they ought to be fun.

If you don't mind strategy games (like fairly slow-paced ones), you could also pick some Total War game. Every Total War game I've played has been fun so far. Pick whichever has the most interesting theme for you and you can still stand looking at (the oldest games look quite rough). Shogun 2 is one classic and quite cheap too. I believe Medieval II is considered the best by many (although obviously opinions vary a lot), but it looks quite a bit rougher and might not be perfect on non-4:3 screens (haven't tried it though).

Look what I purchased for my PC. It arrived today.

It's a 8BitDO gaming controller. Green color, it works both wireless and wired. Works on mobile too.

It has two extra buttons (R4 and L4), for enhanced gaming. Although I was playing Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and haven't found any use for those. Maybe on other games they will show what they can do.

I'm not really into controller gaming for games that need fast camera movements, specially First Person Shooters, but I will gladly use it for any emulator or 2D games.

Congratulations. 8bitDo controllers have earned a fairly good reputation over the years.

The extra buttons are an extra, they come in handy for some games, but are completely useless in others.

I've been using an 8BitDo Ultimate for Switch 2 and laptop. I like the design but durability has not held up compared to other controllers like my DualSense or Xbox controllers. No drift but the sticks are noticeably more wobbly than when I first bought it and the left one actually cracked on me after 9 months. Thankfully that's still under manufacturer warranty and 8BitDo is sending me replacement parts. We'll see how that ends up going. In the meantime I've gone back to Xbox for PC and the 8BitDo will be just for docked Switch 2 play assuming I fix it successfully.

I've been using a XboxOne controller for years now, and the only signs of wear are a small drift on the right stick and the USB cable disconnecting some times. How do you manage to break the new Xbox ones so quickly? Has their quality dropped so much with the new ones?

Also, if you're up to it, I'd be interested in knowing how the replacement pasts worked and if you had any problems to replace the parts.

I've always been a big fan of official Xbox controllers because I've never been able to find anything that comes close ergonomically but I can't remember the last time one of them got past 9 months before stick drift started and on some of them the right bumper starts double clicking or requires an heavier press to register which basically means I buy a new controller for £40 every 12 months because comfort is king.

I did this time try the 8BitDo controller as they always looked good and had some good features for the same price as official controllers but sadly after a week I returned it I just couldn't get used to it's shape it's a very small controller and the grip angle is real narrow and made my hands ache, So I swapped it in for a Gamesir Cyclone and currently gaming with it for a couple of weeks and I'm real happy with it so far it's very close it shape to the official Xbox controller and ergonomics are great just need to see how durable they are long term.

The shape of the Xbox controller seems very popular among third party gamepads, and it's easy to see why as their quite ergonomical.

The cyclone has Hall Effect sticks or the new TMR ones?

OpenAI is shutting down its generative video app Sora. Presumably it was highly unprofitable and they need to drop ballast for their IPO. SeeDance is also having uptime issues too, though. Perhaps generative video is starting to get a reality check; it's certainly way more computationally expensive than most other types of content.

Good ridance.

They may have seen how likely they were going to be sued by almost everybody except Disney, and decided that it wasn't worth it to keep it, at least for the public. I don't think they'll get rid of it entirely, but instead it will be a service for marketing and/or other professionals.

Wait a minute! Aren't you the same guy who made a thread about being overwhelmed by so many games? And you still want more?!

You've come to the right place!

I seem to recall that you weren't into violent games (my apologies if I'm confusing you with someone else), and with that in mind, here are some titles I think could interest you that Zkuq didn't list:

If you like platformers, you can't go wrong with Ori and the Blind Forest 75% off_$4.99 (link

For jRPGs, there is Tales of Zestiria, 90% off_$4.99 (link), tho I think a remake/remaster is in the works? I'm not sure. If you're more interested in western RPGs, Fallout: New Vegas is 90% off_$0.99 (link), but the graphics are dated.

If you like strategy games,Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is excellent and it's 90% off_$3.99 (link). Also strategy, but very different, is Warpips, 85% off_$2.54 (link)

If you want to try some adventure games, the so called point'n'click games, Deponia: The Complete Journey has the first three games ant it has a great price 90% off_$2.99 (link), or you can get the first one for just $0.99 (sadly, they gave it away for free a couple weeks ago).

The Steamworld games are also a good option, and they're all deeply discounted right now (link

It's a bit old, but if you want a GTA-like with LEGO, there's LEGO City Undercover 85% off_$4.49 (link). There are also many other LEGO games to get.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a good Beat'em'Up, or brawler game, and it's 67% off_$4.94 (link)

And I don't know, there are many, many more good cheap games. You can also check the Steam deals for less than $10 or less than $5, and sort them out by user reviews.

You can play Peter Molyneux's new god game, Masters of Albion, before it launches in early access

22cans is on the cusp of kicking Masters of Albion into early access, but if you need more convincing before you splash out on the latest game from legendary overpromiser Peter Molyneux, there's some good news, as the studio is hosting a closed beta.
You'll need to hurry if you want to participate, though. Registration for the closed beta ends at 6 pm GMT on March 25. To sign up, you'll need to hop on over to the Discord, hit up the closed beta channel, and answer a few questions.

Well, I signed up, let's see if I get selected, and if it is any good.

I wish you good luck. Both to be selected and to find a good game.
