I think Nvidia went with DLSS 5 because people have already accepted it and it has earned a good reputation, and so they wanted to use that brand power to keep pushing their agenda.

I'm starting to wonder why they needed DLSS5 in the first place. It's probably very, very long shot, but maybe RDNA5 is just that good in RT/PT tasks...

I know it is PS5, but it's interesting nevertheless.

I really hope they don't use Radeons frame gen unless they fix the frame pacing issue that's still not resolved for 2+ years now. If Cerny develops a fixed version, Radeon should update their broken one.

The crimson dessert developers are not following the API spec then are they? If it runs with DX 12 then Arc should work, end of; they clearly do not give a shit about the 1% market share while AMD is on a puny 5%.

It's an AMD sponsored title.

That may be the case but it under performs on AMD hardware. So it may be more about Pearl Abyss than anything.

I am guessing Pearl Abyss could not be bothered.

I honestly doubt it. This gen AMD had competing hardware, good drivers, "good" pricing and FSR4 massively closed the gap with DLSS. And yet, they're losing even more marketshare.

Nvidia could release an actual turd and it would still sell more than AMD.

It is an sponsored title, that's why it's the second game that uses FSR Redstone, after CoD. So, if AMD cards perform worse than Nvidia while puting money and engineers into it, imagine what would have happened without them. It may not even run on AMD cards at all, like they've done with Intel.

And yeah, either Pearl Abyss didn't really care about making the game run on cards other than Nvidia, they're too incompetent, or they needed to get the game out at all costs and had to cut development corners to make it happen. And given that Black Desert Online, their MMO, runs on Intel Arc GPUs, they don't seem to be that incompetent.
