Such an odd take, if true. Stellar Blade sold a million on PC, seems like a bunch of easy money.

I agree with the article that it is about protecting hardware sales. I guess Sony feels that because of the price increases across various components they need to give the buyer an incentive to buy the PlayStation; this will give Sony more money, I am just guessing anyway.

Maybe. I mean I am not buying Sony hardware regardless, but i would buy their games. Overall I think they lose money here. I dont think those million stellar blade sales would mean an additional million hardware sales.
Well, it would explain why Sony closed Bluepoint (who, by the way, pitched the idea of a Bloodborne port, but FromSoftware said no -PCGamer-). Why would Sony need a studio to make PC ports if they were not going to make them anymore, right?
But I think this comes down to some execs not knowing the market. Some may have thought that, since MSoft has dropped the ball with Xbox and the brand is now almost worthless, they'll sell many more consoles and, with that, many more first party games.
But that's a faulty reasoning. The price of the console will matter more in that regard, as seem by how PS5 sales have stalled lately. And just because you sell more consoles, that doesn't mean that you'll also sell more first party titles, or at least sell enough more units to offset the bigger development costs and the lost revenue from PC ports.
So, as I said from the first day, I don't think they'll do it but, if they're really dumb enough to go with it, it won't be long before they realise their mistake and chage course again.
But anyway, time will tell.
Please excuse my bad English.

For Demo connoisseurs, this one made an impression on me, art is off the charts, and platforming and overall structure is fairly descent that I wanted to keep on going after demo ended:

Another one that made good impression is from original developers of one of my favourite games, Blade of Darkness and studio behind Metroid Dread:

This is sort of Souls-like...but again fairly different in feel so far, with targeted combat (on 4 face buttons), difference for piercing, slashing and crushing attacks on armor, and forging and balancing your own weapons. I don;t like the art style that much, but gameplay feels good.
I haven't payed enough attention to this Next Fest. I checked it out the first day and saw a couple of potential demos to try, but then I just wasn't in the mood.
Blades of Fire launched on the Epic Store a while ago so, if someone else is interested in it after trying the demo, I'm sure you can find more info about it. I hope it does well for the sake of MercurySteam, but I don't see a lot of fuss around it.

Got just asked for the Steam survey, so there's gonna be another AMD GPU that's not getting recognized, unless they add the 6700S by then...
