Damn, the NVidia issues really don't stop.

Also, getting it's ass kicked by a B580 really shows how much 8GB isn't enough anymore for modern games.

Oblivion Remastered is already the third-best-selling game of 2025 in the US, industry analyst says
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/oblivion-remastered-is-already-the-third-best-selling-game-of-2025-in-the-us-industry-analyst-says/
It sure looks like one of the biggest games of 2025 is one of the biggest games of 2006, as industry analyst Mat Piscatella says Oblivion Remastered is already the third-best-selling game of the year in the US.
I maintain that Oblivion is the third or maybe fourth-best game in The Elder Scrolls series, and there is no force in the universe that will move me off that point (except, I suppose, a new Elder Scrolls game that turns out to be really good and thus bumps all the others down a point). But there's no arguing with numbers, and Oblivion Remastered is apparently putting up some big ones.
"After just one week in market (w/e 4.26) Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is already the 3rd best-selling game of 2025 in the US ($ sales) trailing only Monster Hunter: Wilds and Assassin's Creed Shadows," Piscatella, executive director and industry analyst at Circana, wrote on Bluesky. "It was the best-selling game of the week."
Piscatella clarified in a separate post that the number refers specifically to copies sold and not player counts, which include people playing through Game Pass: "A subscription is not a sale." Bethesda announced that Oblivion Remastered had surpassed four million players last week.
>> Looking at the chart above, it hasn’t been able to hold that pace for long, as another game shows better legs. And talking about that other game...

Analyst claims Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is selling twice as fast as any other recent JRPG has on Steam—and it's got me wondering what the secret sauce is
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/analyst-claims-clair-obscur-expedition-33-is-selling-twice-as-fast-as-any-other-recent-jrpg-has-on-steam-and-its-got-me-wondering-what-the-secret-sauce-is/
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might be a front-runner for my own GOTY personal pick in 2025—its hooks are well and truly in my skin, ticking all the right boxes for my inner RPG and Sekiro freaks. A banger soundtrack, gripping story, and an all-around good first showing from Sandfall Interactive has seen it reach major success, despite living in Oblivion Remastered's shadow.
In fact, it's apparently outselling Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Persona, and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth at a whopping 2:1 ratio. That's per analyst Rhys Elliott, who recently spoke to Gamesindustry.biz. Here's a handy graph shared by the site to put it in perspective:
**chart not here, check the article for it**
"According to Alinea Analytics' data," the report reads, "The game has sold more than 785,000 copies on Steam in its first week—more than twice the sales of any recent comparable games in the Japanese RPG style, including last year's acclaimed Atlus title, Metaphor Re:Fantazio."
>> Maybe the soundtrack has something to do with it? (it’s a not too subtle reference to an article about the soundtrack you’ll find on the news)

'Henry is worse than the Black Plague': Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 studio marks 3 million copies sold with some sobering statistics
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/henry-is-worse-than-the-black-plague-kingdom-come-deliverance-2-studio-marks-3-million-copies-sold-with-some-sobering-statistics/
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn't just an RPG, it is also apparently a multiverse. Warhorse Studios recently announced that the game has surpassed three million copies sold, and that means there are now more than three million Henries running around causing trouble in medieval Europe.
I'm not the only one who immediately considered the abundance of Henry in a multiversal context. "Imagine we are living in a multiverse, just as Henry and there are three million versions of it already, all similar, but different with different outcomes," Warhorse creative director Daniel Vavra wrote on X. "We might be living in a simulation."
Well, Henry is, at least, all three million of him, and he's been getting up to some trouble. Warhorse said Henry has picked nearly 195 million locks as of May 4, pickpocketed 132.3 million items, and stolen more than 38.5 billion. He's also spent 387 million hours drunk, during which time he's killed more than four million people.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask PC Recomp V1.2 Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-pc-recomp-v1-2-released/
The team behind Zelda 64: Recompiled, an unofficial port of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask on PC, has released a new version of it. So, let’s see what Version 1.2 brings to the table.
According to the devs, Version 1.2.0 adds modding support to the game. Players can install mods by dragging them onto the game window or by using the “Install Mods” button in the mod menu before starting the game. You can find many mods on the Thunderstore page.
Moreover, this latest version adds support for Texture Packs. Texture packs are managed with the same menu as mods and installed in the same way. Plus, you can find some texture packs on the Thunderstore page we shared above.
And that’s not all. Version 1.2.0 adds support for MacOS via a Metal renderer. It also has many graphical optimizations to improve performance on lower end GPUs. Plus, it includes various UI tweaks and improvements.

Space Marine 2's Astartes Overhaul mod brings Terminators to the campaign, NPC Dreadnoughts to operations, and 12-player lobbies
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/space-marine-2s-astartes-overhaul-mod-brings-terminators-to-the-campaign-npc-dreadnoughts-to-operations-and-12-player-lobbies/
Space Marine 2 might not have landed quite as surely as some of us hoped (see Robin Valentine's rather mixed review), but it looks like a game that can take a hit and keep on trucking. Ever since release, there's been a dedicated scene of 40k fans tweaking, tuning and adding extra cosmetic gubbins to the game, but most projects pale in comparison to the Astartes Overhaul, an ongoing 'lore accurate' mega-mod by the Astartes Team that adds new classes, weapon and cosmetics as well as comprehensively reworking the post-campaign Operations mode.
While this mod has been around and kicking for a while, it just rolled out one of its most significant updates yet, featuring two more classes, cross-class customization options, an experimental 12-player mode (this mod is fully multiplayer compatible, so long as all players are running the same version) and even a first taste of Terminator power armor, for when absolutely every Tyranid in the room needs to die right now.
While not quite ready for multiplayer prime-time, version 7.2 does include a first peek at playable Terminator armor, available via the campaign mode in this current release. The super-sized power armor works exactly how you'd expect, judging by the gameplay clip below from Iron Gaming 40k, with storm bolters providing plenty of dakka and the power fist looking very capable of smashing through almost anything. They've not yet implemented the iconic multi-barreled Assault Cannon as a heavy weapon, but word is that it's high on the mod crew's priorities, and I cannot wait to take it for a test-drive.
This update also adds Chaplain and Apothecary classes with support-focused skills, a bundle of new weapons and variants, new models for old gear and the option to ground pound and shield bash with every weapon. Generally, the mod also increases the scale of battles. Bigger swarms, enemies with less health but doing more damage, and smarter, more capable AI allies. NPC allies pop up more often as well, and are more varied, so don't be surprised if the occasional named story NPC, imperial guard squad or even a whole-ass Dreadnought decides to wade into the fight on an operation.

Tuesday news, part two:

Stellaris' new Biogenesis expansion lets you be a sapient planet or home-grow your own cosmic leviathan
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/strategy/stellaris-new-biogenesis-expansion-lets-you-be-a-sapient-planet-or-home-grow-your-own-cosmic-leviathan/
Sci-fi sandbox strategy sim Stellaris will probably continue expanding until either the heat-death of the universe, or it encompasses every single notable genre trope in existence. Today, it grew a meaty little chunk of new content with the Biogenesis expansion, part of its ninth season of DLC.

The first big REPO update is available to test

REPO's much-anticipated update is coming... soon... but it's also coming right now because, since everyone's very excited about it, the developers at Semiwork have decided to run it as an open beta.

After 2 decades of snacking, a new World of Warcraft spell renders vendor food partly obsolete
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/world-of-warcraft/after-two-decades-of-snacking-world-of-warcraft-is-doing-away-with-vendor-food/
As World of Warcraft preps for patch 11.1.7, Wowhead has spotted an interesting feature on the public test servers: a new spell in the general tab for all characters, called recuperate, that lets you light a little campfire, cook, and get your health (but not mana) back over 30 seconds. It costs you nothing.

This dreary low-poly delivery game pairs Animal Crossing villagers with soul-crushing gig work and I can't wait to play it
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/this-dreary-low-poly-delivery-game-pairs-animal-crossing-villagers-with-soul-crushing-gig-work-and-i-cant-wait-to-play-it/
I spent six years as a delivery guy in a profoundly depressed area, so I'm receptive when a game like Easy Delivery Co. appeals to the universal human yearning to drive packages around in a place that sucks. It's a driving game with PS1-esque graphics, a soundtrack of laidback beats, and a bleak mountainside setting populated by eerie Animal Crossing villagers—and after an hour with the demo, it's easily one of my most anticipated games of 2025.

There's now a free 'shareware' version of horde-battling RTS Diplomacy is Not an Option
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/strategy/theres-now-a-free-shareware-version-of-horde-battling-rts-diplomacy-is-not-an-option/
The base-building, horde vaporizing Diplomacy is Not an Option left early access last year to a pretty warm reception by those who'd followed its development. In it you build up little medieval town-fortresses and use that economic engine to defend them from copious hordes of attacking fantasy invaders.
You also vaporize the invaders with laser beam magic from the sky, if that's your thing.
Now, to celebrate the release and success, developer Door 407 has made a free "shareware" version of the game that's basically a standalone demo with stuff to do that's only in it.

'I am about to cry my eyes out': 2000s toys-to-life phenom Webkinz, which I may or may not still have a shelf full of plushes from, is somehow back 5 years after the death of Flash
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/life-sim/i-am-about-to-cry-my-eyes-out-2000s-toys-to-life-phenom-webkinz-which-i-may-or-may-not-still-have-a-shelf-full-of-plushes-from-is-somehow-back-5-years-after-the-death-of-flash/
Put down the frog: There's no need to do anything rash.
That'll apply to you, reader of a very specific age, if you were thinking of throwing out your old Webkinz—the toys-to-life plushie that was springing into browsers circa 2005—because the classic version of the game hasn't been playable on browsers in ages. Last week, Webkinz developer and toy company Ganz announced that the game is slated for a return to browsers later this year.

An 8,500-hour countdown clock is ticking down to an Ecco the Dolphin remaster and sequel reveal
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/an-8-500-hour-countdown-clock-is-ticking-down-to-an-ecco-the-dolphin-remaster-and-sequel-reveal/
A new Ecco the Dolphin game is in the works, and a countdown website is now ticking down to what I can only assume will be an official reveal when it hits the zero mark—which will happen in a little over 8,500 hours.

Everyone is a boat in this 'MOBA meets Vampire Survivors' game inspired by a Warcraft 3 mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/moba/everyone-is-a-boat-in-this-moba-meets-vampire-survivors-game-inspired-by-a-warcraft-3-mod/
All these years later, the Warcraft 3 modding scene is still producing fully fledged games.
The mod Battleships is sort of like a take on DOTA, but instead of RPG-style heroes, players pilot upgradable warships afloat in watery labyrinths. The big shakeup is that your weapons fire themselves, so any harassment and creep farming will take care of itself while you steer the ship and manage cooldowns.
Sirocco, which launched into early access on Steam last Friday, is an evolution of the mod with sleeker visuals and finer controls. The core is very much the same, and the game bills itself as a MOBA where players can "ditch the roles, hard counters and last hits."

'It is very touching and very stupid': Katamari Damacy creator can't wait for us to experience the final scene of his new game
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/adventure/it-is-very-touching-and-very-stupid-katamari-damacy-creator-cant-wait-for-us-to-experience-the-final-scene-of-his-new-game/
The next game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi is about a teenager who's permanently stuck in a T-pose, a default 3D modeling pose you'll sometimes see glitched-out videogame characters revert to.
In To a T, you'll help Teen—the kid is actually named "Teenager"—navigate life with their immovable outstretched arms, which in Takahashi's own words results in "stupid" scenes.

The Month of Meh event is underway in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, finally letting you take photos with a strange man dressed as an egg

Any time there's an opportunity to run a quirky seasonal event, Hello Kitty Island Adventure is happy to oblige. So, it's not surprising that a month-long celebration for all things eggs, the Month of Meh, is the current one underway.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

And today there’s also a third part of the gaming news:

'He's very good at finding really cool people': Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's director found its composer on Soundcloud and lead writer on Reddit
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/hes-very-good-at-finding-really-cool-people-clair-obscur-expedition-33s-director-found-its-composer-on-soundcloud-and-lead-writer-on-reddit/
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 completely blew my expectations out of the water. Its story and combat quickly became all-consuming—I sank 13 hours into it over just one weekend. But the best part of this French RPG has to be its soundtrack, which is apparently all thanks to just one composer.
Lorien Testard had never worked on a videogame before (via BBC) and was discovered by Expedition 33's director, Guillaume Broche, on Soundcloud. He then proceeded to make the entire score, comprising 154 songs and clocking in at an impressive, and slightly terrifying, eight hours and nine minutes long.

Tales of the Shire wants to make sure 'every detail is just right' when starting your hobbit life, but the character creator still looks incredibly disappointing
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/life-sim/tales-of-the-shire-wants-to-make-sure-every-detail-is-just-right-when-starting-your-hobbit-life-but-the-character-creator-still-looks-incredibly-disappointing/
Hobbit life simulator Tales of the Shire is setting up for its launch in July, and an Inside Look video has been uploaded to share an update on development. Spotlighting elements of gameplay like farming, personalities, and how decorating your home works, there's a lot on display to encourage making the experience your own.
The Inside Look also features a spotlight on character customisation, which is one of the elements particularly marketed to help make your experience with Tales of the Shire unique to you. However, as much as the game is presented as your key to Hobbit life, I can't help feeling like the features on display are still incredibly lackluster.

Overwatch 2 is preparing to answer the internet's current obsession: Who would win, 1 gorilla or 100 men, and it's all going to be livestreamed
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/overwatch-2-is-preparing-to-answer-the-internets-current-obsession-who-would-win-1-gorilla-or-100-men-and-its-all-going-to-be-livestreamed/
The latest discourse circulating around the internet has been surprisingly divisive, because no, 100 men couldn't beat a gorilla in a fight, at least not without tools and coordination. But for those who aren't convinced, Overwatch 2 has decided to test the query out by pitting 100 Soldier 76s against one Winston—oh, you thought there'd actually be a brawl between a gorilla and 100 men? Don't have the budget for that, but this is the next best thing.
"Join us along with some surprise content creators for an epic showdown," Overwatch 2 says on social media. The fight will be streamed today at 12pm PT/ 3pm ET/ 8pm BST, but otherwise, there are no other details about who will be involved or what the fight will actually look like.

Deadlock goes full second breakfast by having another, secret playtest tucked inside the first one—with all-new heroes and a redesign of everyone's favourite gargoyle gal
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/moba/deadlock-goes-full-second-breakfast-by-having-another-secret-playtest-tucked-inside-the-first-one-with-all-new-heroes-and-a-redesign-of-everyones-favourite-gargoyle-gal/
If you're at all familiar with Deadlock, you might remember some hullabaloo about its 'open secret' status during early testing. Valve's new MOBA/shooter was kept very much under wraps, with the company playing coy right up until the finish line. Even now, it's still invite-only. Why? Beats me, since getting a pass to go play isn't really hard.
Valve really likes its secret playtest servers, though, as a top Deadlock streamer by the name of Deathy accidentally popped open the wrong client while on Stream. They quickly deleted it, mind, but the internet is forever, and players with a quickdraw print-screen snapped some images (via Eurogamer).

Didn't they raise the price recently due to the inclusion of IGN+? On another forum, there was some discussion about that, and I don't think people seemed happy. Anyway, that hardly sounds free to me if it bumps up the price of whole subscription. Please do correct me if I've misunderstood something, of course.
