Happier than ever I dropped consoles, except Nintendo, and went PC. The ps5 pro is a joke. Don't forgot Sony charges $80 a year for online.

There is no way that aren't getting that for pennies on the dollar. This feels like a maximum greed decision since they know xbox has cuckholded themselves since Xbox One and Nintendo is in a different universe. It really is one of those "Do you want a playstation or pc?" |
They know there's a bit of a userbase that will buy into the PS5 Pro.
Majority of the PS5s that will sell in the next couple of years will be the PS5 Slim until the PS6 comes out.

After what the way they killed The Crew, Ubisoft can go f*ck themselves.
Also, they've announced that they're working on an offline mode, without mention of when it will be available. And we know that these announcements sometimes end with nothing as "it wasn't technically possible".
Besides, I'm sure this is an attempt to bring back players that have left the games after seeing what happened with the first one. They aren't doing it out of kindness.

Shit is still paired with zen 2, doesn't come with the bluray drive nor does it come with a stand as they cost extra. Absolutely nuts. |
Yep, Sony is delusional if they think they can sell lots of PS5 Pros in this economy and at that price. And, as others pointed in the thread about it, the exchange rate is utterly ridiculous.

I'll be honest here, I don't think components have dropped as much in price as you may think. Neither MSoft nor Sony have done permanent price cuts despìte the consoles being 4 years old. In fact, Sony raised the price of the digital only version when the slim model launched.
And if we look at what's going on with PC parts, we see that TSMC has kept rising prices of its waffers, and GDDR6 memory hasn't become much more cheaper either. It's only NVMe drives that have seen a reduction in price (and that has already changed a bit this year) and likely the other parts.
Consoles aren't becoming cheaper like they used to, and that's one of the reasons current consoles aren't selling as well as previous ones did. PS5 had shortages, yes, but so did PS4 and yet it still sold better. Will GTA 6 help with that? Sure, to a point, but I still think PS5 may be Sony's lowest selling console because it won't reach a low enough price to allow part of their traditional customers to buy it. At least new.

Can you give me an example of a time when they said they were going to implement something like offline play but didnt because "it wasnt technically possible"?

Giving me homework on a festive day? How dare you!
I should note that my comment was focused on the industry, not just Ubisoft, and one of the first examples that come to my mind is Elite Dangerous.

I don't think PS5 will have problem reaching PS3 numbers. PS1, probably. PS4, really doubt it.

I didn't remember that PS3 had sold so "little", so yeah, it will likely sell more than that. PS1? That will be close.

It'll easily clear the PS1. GTA6 is the most anticipated game of all time and at this rate, given how Xbox is faring, it might as well be considered a PS exclusive in most markets.

While GTA 6 will impact sales, it's not like consoles will start constantly selling twice as much. The consoles are 4 years old and a lot of potential GTA users already have a PS5 or Xbox.
