Tuesday news, the second (and last!) part:

A plan to bring the not-quite-dead asymmetrical survival joint Friday the 13th: The Game back to life has been abandoned just days after it was announced thanks to a cease-and-desist letter accusing the project of "cavalier disregard of copyright law."

While everyone was distracted with Diablo 4's gigantic loot update on the test server over the weekend, players found some clues for the next season's theme ahead of its official announcement.
League of Legends is getting a Vampire Survivors-style PvE mode later this year

Bullet heaven games are essentially the reverse of bullet hells: Instead of trying to dodge endless, nigh-impenetrable waves of enemy projectiles, you are the source of those projectiles, using them to mow down endless, nigh-impenetrable waves of enemies. I'm pretty sure Vampire Survivors wasn't the first game of the type, but it was definitely the one that dragged it to prominence, inspiring all sorts of imitators—including, later this year, a new game mode in League of Legends.
Card game developer says it paid an 'AI artist' $90,000 to generate card art because 'no one comes close to the quality he delivers'

The maker of digital trading card game Champions of Otherworldly Magic says it has spent $90,000 on card art, the entirety of which has been paid to a single "AI artist" who receives $15,000 per month despite dedicating less than two full work days to the project each month.
>> I’m speechless.
'Rogue item detected': Helldivers 2 dev orders players to ignore a mysterious ship upgrade that promises 'new stratagem permits'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/rogue-item-detected-helldivers-2-dev-orders-players-to-ignore-a-mysterious-ship-upgrade-that-promises-new-stratagems-permits/
It's the calm before the storm in Helldivers 2. Operation Swift Disassembly was a success and the Automatons have literally been wiped off the map. For as much as we're enjoying our victory and Arrowhead is faithfully sticking to the bit that robots are now extinct, we know by now that something is coming. We might've gotten a first glance at that something today in the form of a "rogue" ship upgrade that briefly appeared for players.
>> Don’t be fooled, there are Automatons still out there.

It looks like the patriotic community managers of the Super Earth Ministry of Truth were bang on the money—a hotfix for Helldivers 2 crashes has been rolled out, effective immediately, ahead of the new explosive Warbond later this week.
Battlefield 2042 won't get more new seasons as next Battlefield game enters full production
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/battlefield-2042-seasons-end-next-game-in-production-now/
The current season of Battlefield 2042 will be its last. The 128-player shooter will continue to receive new events, challenges, and other updates, EA has announced, but the bulk of the Battlefield work happening from now on will be dedicated to producing the next game in the series—or possibly games, but that's not quite clear yet.
The other shoe drops hard in Helldivers 2, as players go from celebrating total Automaton destruction to fending off a vengeful robot tide in the new major order

Less than a week ago, Helldivers 2 players managed to stamp out the Automaton resistance "for good". This earned them a pat on the back and a whole single minute of free time—Super Earth isn't a dystopia, though, honest.
You might have noticed that "for good" is in air quotes, there. That's because the final holdout worlds of Maia, Durgen, and Tibit were merely a setback for the Automaton scourge. There was ample reason to believe that the bots would be permanently turned off until a total galactic victory reset the board, but… well, other shoe—meet your drop.
"The Automatons have revealed their true force," announces a dire warning via the in-game dispatches system. "A massive invasion fleet sweeping through our territory. Defences are scrambling. Slow its advance as much as possible."
