A couple of things:

1) You're not taking into account any IPC improvements that each new architecture brings to the table. That should be enough to put your "downclocka CPU enough to make it win the efficiency crown" statement. No it wont because it will use less power, but the other CPUs will still be able to do more at the same power thanks to the improvements they have.

2) This is not about downclocking or limiting CPUs until they look good. GamersNexus tested those processors out of the box, at its regular power and frequency settings, and AMD was more efficient out of the box. Then, they limited both CPUs to the same power to see how they would behave with both of them using the same amount of power, to see if Intel appears to be less efficient because they push those chips the most, and the result was still the same.

Simply put, AMD has a more efficient architecture than Intel.

If a 12100F is wining a chart about efficiency (compared to all other non X3D CPUs), that chart is poorly constructed (intentionally?). GamersNexus are turning towards the same snarky clickbait with skewed tests. Main issue here is that you have to equalize free parameters, i.e. set the same wattage across all tested CPUs. AMD does indeed lead in gaming efficiency with X3D chips, however Intel is leading in single thread performance and the high number of E-cores are very efficient in non-gaming applications. More meaningful watt-per-watt comparisons put AMD and Intel in the same efficiency class, depending on specific apps. Intel's unlocked CPUs are a double-edged sword, unlocking was once considered an expensive enthusiast feature and now you get it "for free" but the efficiency curve does drop drastically above 120W. GamersNexus know that trade-off but they constructed some bad charts to get internet points.

I'd stop you right there, because if you think GamersNexus did that on purpose, then they're not the only ones, like TechPowerUp:

From their 14900K review, the page about power consumption and efficiency: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-14900k/22.html

Bottom of the page you'll find the efficiency graphs... and the 14900K and 14700K don't do well.

But it gets worse, because they did an article testing the 14900K with different power limits: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-14900k-raptor-lake-tested-at-power-limits-down-to-35-w/

I'd suggest that you skip the power consumption & efficiency page, especially the single thread efficiency chart. You won't like who's number one.

Ah! Got it. Well, that explains the lack of any link.

Thanks.

That is, indeed, insane. I'd like to know the reasons for such veredict and the long imprision time. After all, the kid may have mental issues and it's kind of debatable, even if hard to agree with.

He has Autism. And from what i can tell worst thing this kid done is hack some big companies and say how he is going to do it again.

Like i said this kid is smart as fuck instead of locking him in a mental hospital they should be helping him work with company's to test their software and let him hack away,.

Thanks for sharing that bit of info. It explains the mental hospital, but not why they've decided to lock him there instead of trying to rehabilitate him.

Microsoft Is Killing Windows Mixed Reality, Will Remove Support For It From Windows

Just after I reactivated my HP Reverb G2 and bought some VR games in the Steam Sale.

But I can still enjoy my PCVR games until November 2026... and further years unless I update to a newer Windows system.

And I have no problem to upgrade to a better PCVR headset in 2026/2027

I imagine it will still work thanks to steam? and open vr?

Alright. Does someone care to explain to me why so many porn sites thrive while YouTube apparently loses billions despite major companies advertising on it?

Now they're rolling massive unskippable ads for the long videos. It's just so annoying and making it really hard to watch on the app anymore.

Because the payout from Ads is larger than what any porn site makes.

Depends. Porn sites have their own ads, they have their own subscription methods and of course, those uploading the content can also advertise their OF (for extra dosh), or simply allow you to buy their content for one time purchases on said porn site.

Meanwhile on Youtube you're stuck with watching ads or buying that YT premium sub (which still has a form of advertisement on it).

I wouldn't say they are faring any better though, I mean I've got a bunch of NSFW art friends that are struggling to get by (and the majority of them operate a patreon, sub star, and even in other cases, an OF as well). Also really doesn't help that card holder companies like Mastercard are really starting to crack down on NSFW content in general (I swear they're operated by puritans/Christian devout).

I'm still sticking it to youtube though, since I'm sporting 2 adblockers at the same time, and if one fails, I simply expunge the cache and filter listings and renew them and reboot the blocker and I'm back to watching vids ad-free. I just really hate ads and do not believe in plastering ads everywhere (a trailer for a video game or movie I can tolerate, but only as long as it is only on YT and not some shitty trailer that pops up on your screen on a non YT website).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Is Youtube really losing that much money or is this the typical business mentality of "not earning = losing"?
