I like it the new graphics will take a bit of getting used to but there is much more information on it and the old current players chart is basically there by clicking most popular and it has some additional info on it.

The new Top sellers including all a games revenue and tracking f2p games is a good move as units sold becomes less and less relevant as the only factor determining a games success and having a tab to swap between Global and different countries rather than changing the url is a nice QoL :)

Yeah, I think I judged the overhaul a bit too quickly. I'm so used to Steam stats doing one thing and one thing only. But going over all the changes, there's definitely some welcome QoL changes for sure!

Friday news, part two:

Grand strategy cult classic Solium Infernum gets a ground up 're-imagining' from Armello's creators
https://www.pcgamer.com/solium-infernum-is-getting-a-ground-up-re-imagining-from-the-creators-of-armello/
Solium Infernum was a turn-based strategy phenomenon back in the early 2010s. Instead of taking the fight to the usual strategy arenas—historical battlefields, high fantasy landscapes, intergalactic colonies—it had a gaggle of archfiends vying for supremacy in a John Milton/Dante-inspired Hell. (...)
An extremely noble undertaking, and one that has seen his legend grow among fans of richly complicated political strategy sims. Now, 12 years later, Armello studio League of Geeks has announced a ground-up "re-imagining" of Solium Infernum. In addition to throwing off the shackles of Adobe Director graphical austerity, the League of Geeks project will "take some liberties" while also adding much more modern multiplayer functionality.

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to become even more unbearable for your graphics card
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-overdrive-mode/
Cyberpunk 2077 will soon get an update that will push its ray tracing to the next level with the introduction of a new Ray Tracing: Overdrive setting. This was announced as part of Nvidia's RTX 40-series launch, as Nvidia used the new mode to show off the frame rate capabilities of its new DLSS 3 tech. That's good news for anyone that enjoys rampaging through Night City, although it's potentially bad news for your graphics card if the native frame rates are anything to go by.

Play a killer whale, a polar bear and a bumblebee in Minecraft thanks to BBC Earth
https://www.pcgamer.com/play-a-killer-whale-a-polar-bear-and-a-bumblebee-in-minecraft-thanks-to-bbc-earth/
The latest great documentary from BBC Earth is Frozen Planet 2, focusing on how life survives and even thrives in the coldest parts of Earth. (...)
As you can probably tell I'm a bit of a junkie for BBC Earth shows: they're the best-of-the-best when it comes to showing the extraordinary beauty and extremes of our home. Part of BBC Earth's drive now is spreading the message of its shows, and so to coincide with the weekly release of Frozen Planet 2 episodes, it has collaborated with the Minecraft Education Edition team to produce five Minecraft 'episodes' that will release alongside the shows.

Children's MMO beset by trolling server announcements was victim of outside intrusion
https://www.pcgamer.com/disgruntled-employee-spams-players-of-14-year-old-mmo-with-profanity-laden-official-notifications/
Numerous users on the subreddit of the 2008 youth-oriented MMO Wizard101shared screenshots of official server messages pushed to players that contained jokes, profanity, and complaints of poor pay at developer KingsIsle. (...)
Correction: The initial framing of this article stated that the offensive messages' were written by an employee of KingsIsle. KingsIsle has since clarified that an outside actor unaffiliated with the company gained access to the Wizard101 broadcast system and sent the messages. We've updated the story to reflect this new information.

Hunt: Showdown devs appear to be cooking up some kind of horrible, pilotable bug
https://www.pcgamer.com/hunt-showdown-devs-appear-to-be-cooking-up-some-kind-of-horrible-pilotable-bug/
Two teases on Hunt: Showdown's Twitter account in the last two days have convinced me that the next feature and creature added to the game will be a flying surveillance bug that players can use to spy on opponents. And I think it could be arriving as soon as next month.

Hearthstone's next mini-set will pit Sylvanas against Zovaal next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstones-next-mini-set-will-pit-sylvanas-against-zovaal-next-week/
The next Hearthstone mini-set has been revealed as Maw and Disorder, a collection of 35 cards featuring the return of Sylvanas, who hasn't been a playable card in Standard since her original incarnation was sent to the Hall of Fame in 2017. This time around the most infamous of the Windrunner sisters "has been brought before the Jailer to answer for her crimes."

Stellaris is going where no 4X has gone before: a roguelite VR spin-off
https://www.pcgamer.com/stellaris-is-going-where-no-4x-has-gone-before-a-roguelite-vr-spin-off/
This wasn't on my bingo card for 2022, but Paradox's sci-fi 4X Stellaris is getting a spin-off: a VR "action-roguelite set in Paradox’s sci-fi milieu" for the Meta Quest 2. It comes from Fast Travel Games, who also made a Cities: Skylines VR experience once upon a time.

Blizzard got a community creator to do the Wrath of the Lich King Classic trailer, and it's the best
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-got-a-community-creator-to-do-the-wrath-of-the-lich-king-classic-trailer-and-its-the-best/
Blizzard has released a new 'Journey' trailer for the imminent release of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for WoW Classic, and it's amazing—but not for the usual reasons. When I think of Blizzard cinematics the first thought that comes to mind is the lavish CG spectacles that introduced us to the world of Overwatch, or Diablo and Starcraft's ludicrously OTT cutscenes. This one, however, is all about the players.

And these are the weekend deals at GOG and Steam:

Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake’s premium packaging design leaks out

https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i9-13900k-raptor-lakes-premium-packaging-design-leaks-out

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

So based on Nvidia's pricing and now that we know TSMC is charging an arm and a leg for their wafers, I am gonna predict RDNA 3's pricing:

7900XT: $1299 vs $1599 4090
7800XT: $999 vs $1199 4080 16GB
7800: $849 vs $899 4080 12GB

In Raster performance, I think 4090 > 7900XT > 7800XT > 4080 16GB > 7800 > 4080 12GB

Ray tracing will be hard to tell as AMD is supposed to be redesigning their RT cores but its safe to say Nvidia will continue to win overall. I don't think AMD will price it much more aggressively than that simply because there isn't any alternative GPU manufacturers and they need their margins to continue and secure TSMC allocation for their next generation products.

But if AMD wants to prioritize maximum margins over market share, the prices will be imo:

7900XT: $1499 vs $1599 4090
7800XT: $1299 vs $1199 4080 16GB
7800: $999 vs $899 4080 12GB

I don't think Nvidia will be winning in Raster outside of the 4090 when it comes to the two 4080s they announced simply because how cut down they are. AMD has a lot of room to stick their GPUs higher than those but not higher than 4090.

So basically an actionized VR version of Sword of the Stars: The Pit.

Because that one was already a roguelike (and really roguelike, not just roguelite) spinoff of a 4X game

I think you're right on the money with those predictions. I do expect option 1 though, because I'm not sure they can afford raising their prices the near-NVidia levels with their paltry market share.

It's very difficult to predict the prices of AMD's upcoming cards because we don't really know much about them.

We have rumors about the 7900XT(X) featuring 24GB of VRAM like Nvidia's 4090 but, at least as far as I can recall, for the rest of the cards we don't even have that. We only have guesses based on how many MCDs they'll have which, in turn, are also rumors/guesses as well, making it all confusing and very unreliable.

There's also the matter of how big the chips can be, how much will the assembly of the different chiplets cost, etc.

So yeah, I'll pass on making any guess about the RDNA3 prices. Too many unknowns for now.

What I'll say is that I believe AMD will take the raster crown from Nvidia, but it would be close to a miracle for AMD to catch up when it comes to ray tracing. RDNA2 was barely on par with Turing, and I don't think they can make two Nvidia gens jump in only one.

Well, f*ck me. I didn't pay attention to the numbers behind it because I fount it already rodiculous, but wow.

In Spain the vat is 21% which, for a 1.399 product, it's 294€ for a total 1.692.79 €. So Nvidia charges an extra 250€ because f*ck us.

On another note, this time I do not only know that store, but I actually bought my GTX 1070 from it. Good place to buy your stuff, except for the storage (there's a tax that they don't add in the retail price).
