While it may be cheaper to buy a new printer, the ink cartridges are either half way filled or are smaller sized than the brand new ones. So for it's purpose, buying a new ink cartridge is generally cheaper in the long run cause you are getting less prints if you keep buying new printers instead of ink cartridges.

I know but, if you don't use it regularly, the ink dries. That's a problem laser printers don't have, because you can gently shake the toner to get the dust free and ready to go.

But well, the printers market is one full of BS from almost all the vendors. I still remember how HP sold printers that would only work with their own original ink and couldn't be refilled. That didn't work too well for them, tho.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I didn't know that. It goes to show how how badly thought this whole thing was.

AMD preparing new packaging for its Ryzen 7000 series

The box does look really nice. Maybe I should upgrade just so I can get rid of the shit tier $3 box that my $1100 Cad 5950x came in.

But the more interesting thing is:

SGX, Intel’s supposedly impregnable data fortress, has been breached yet again

Nothing is ever truly impregnable

So this is what the rumoured launch prices look like:

If they are going to raise the prices, then I do hope it's on par with Raptor lake.

I didn't know you had a cat-soul in you, Yuri, willing to upgrade to just have a nicer box.

Sadly, increased prices are to be expected, damned inflation. The question is how much. I really hope it's not more than $50. But well, at least the 7600X will be cheaper, since the $299 spot is reserved for the 7700X. Mid-to-low end gamers FTW!

If anyone is looking for a 2TB PCI-E Gen 4 SSD, Kingston has one on sale for $183 USD.

This does do 7GB/s so should work on PS5s as well.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 get new (lower) power specs, mysterious 20GB model also mentioned

"There is also an update from @KittyYukko (some may remember him as KittyCorgi) who is aware of the model based on PG139 board, the SKU named 340. This model would fit in between RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 specs by offering 14848 CUDA cores and 20GB of GDDR6X memory."

For a chip that's less than half a 4090, I find the 4070 still consumes too much power.

As going by the naming scheme, I think it would have been better if the  340 SKU would have been the 4090 and the 4090 a 4090Ti since the gap between the 3080 and the rumored 3080Ti seems way too big. On the other hand, this would have meant a memory downgrade to the current gen for the 4090...

I don't think that's unusual. Look at a 6700XT vs 6900XT. Despite the 6700XT having 40 CU vs 6900XT having 80CUs, the TBP of 6700XT is 230 watts vs 300 watts of a 6900XT.
