"No mention of PS4's Spider-Man or Bloodborne for PC"

"no Persona 5 mentioned"

Still a very impressive list... I will be curious to see how long it takes for some of these games to come to PC. I'll be honest, I almost feel like selling my ps5 lol but we will see.

Steam now has a better downloads page and Storage Manager
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/steam-now-has-a-better-downloads-page-and-storage-manager/
A beta update for Steam rolled out in July that we liked quite a bit: It overhauled the downloads page to make it more informative and easier to understand, and also made much-needed changes to the storage manager that greatly simplifies the process of moving games between multiple drives.
The update was restricted to Steam users who were opted into the client beta channel at the time, but it's now been rolled out to everyone, along with specific notes about what's been changed.

https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/weekly-mods-report-hexarcana-rainbow-six-black-ops-2-0-gta-san-andreas-hd-texture-pack-twisted-insurrection/
A number of mods came out this week that passed under our radar so I’ve decided to collect and share most of them in one big article. I plan to keep posting these “mods report” articles each and every week. After all, it will introduce you to some mods we wouldn’t be sharing otherwise. So, let’s get started.
>> All those mods can be found at ModDB.

Runescape HD mod releasing next week after modder and Jagex reach agreement
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/Runelite-HD-Jagex-reverses-decision/
Jagex says it will publish another blog on the Old School Runescape site with instructions on how to install Runelite HD, which gives the original Runelite OS version of the game a significant graphical overhaul while maintaining the original game's style.
Update: Runescape developer Jagex has announced that 117scape's Runelite HD mod will be made freely available on September 13.

Two Team Fortress 2 mods are down due to 'an arrangement with Valve'
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/two-team-fortress-2-mods-are-down-due-to-an-arrangement-with-valve/
Two major Team Fortress 2 mods have become temporarily unavailable at the close of this week, with creators of both the TF2 Classic and Open Fortress mods saying it's "due to an arrangement with Valve." Twitter posts from the official accounts of both mods used the quoted wording identically in their statement.
Both mods have also stated to their community that it's a temporary disruption, and that it's nothing to be worried about. Members of both teams have posted to Discord servers to allay the fears of fans.
It's now being speculated that both mods are getting a dedicated Steam page, similar to what happened in the past with popular projects like Black Mesa.

Among Us' crewmates pack a punch in this fan-made fighting game
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/among-us-crewmates-pack-a-punch-in-this-fan-made-fighting-game-spin-off/
Forget emergency meetings and deception. What if the ultimate victor of Among Us' interstellar terror was decided with a good old-fashioned punch-up?
Enter Among Us Arena, a fan-made spin-off that pits the colourful crewmates against each other in traditional Street Fighter-esque brawls. Your character roster is, predictably, a palette of crewmate recolours—and while they all share a moveset, it provides some shockingly smooth and satisfying brawls.

Starcutter reckons it'll be ready to show off footage of its "real" fighting game soon, with donations to Arena going towards it. Among Us Arena is free to download over on Itch.io.

New beautiful screenshots surface for Elden Ring
https://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/new-beautiful-screenshots-surface-for-elden-ring/
Bandai Namco has released some new screenshots from its upcoming highly-anticipated action RPG, Elden Ring. My guess is that Bandai Namco is sharing these as teasers for Tokyo Game Show 2021. Thus, we might get a new trailer at that event. This is a hypothesis though so take it with a grain of salt.

In June 2021, we informed you about a new game from Arkane Austin, Redfall. Redfall is an open-world co-op FPS that aims to bring Arkane’s signature gameplay to the co-operative action and FPS genres. And from the looks of it, its first screenshots have been leaked online.

Just in time for football season, Legend Bowl launches out of Early Access
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/just-in-time-for-football-season-legend-bowl-launches-out-of-early-access/

We're not going to see any more Dead Space until sometime next year
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/were-not-going-to-see-any-more-dead-space-until-sometime-next-year/
At the end of August, Electronic Arts gave us our first look at the Dead Space reboot, with a particular focus on its hot new slice-and-dice technology. (...)
It definitely looks promising. Unfortunately, it seems that our first look at it will also be our last for quite a while. In an update posted today, developer EA Motive said it's going "heads down" on development, and we won't be seeing it again until sometime in 2022.

Tchia is a soul-jumping game inspired by New Caledonia culture
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/tchia-trailer/
At first glance, Tchia seems like a perfectly modest game about a girl exploring an island, petting crabs and talking to old fishermen. Then she sneaks up on a seagull and possesses it like she's the ghost from Geist. Somehow this doesn't make Tchia look any less wholesome, as you can see in the game's new trailer above.

Server shutdown kills Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/server-shutdown-kills-warhammer-40000-eternal-crusade/
In a more than ironic twist given the game's name, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is no more following a server shutdown on September 10th. With the official servers shut down Eternal Crusade is now dead and gone, with both PvP and PvE modes completely inaccessible. The game client is no longer available for download on Steam.

Chinese players start review-bombing Life is Strange: True Colors over Tibetan flag
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/chinese-players-start-review-bombing-life-is-strange-true-colors-over-tibetan-flag/
Life is Strange: True Colors is set in the town of Haven Springs, where a shop called Treasures of Tibet can be seen flying a Tibetan flag above its entrance. That flag is used a symbol of the Tibetan independence movement and is banned in mainland China, which is why it's become a source of complaint among Chinese players on Steam.

A PR rep for Alan Wake Remastered confirmed to Screen Rant that the new game won't have any of the brand placement of the old game. So no Verizon, Energizer, Ford, or Lincoln. Those deals have long since expired.

An Oxenfree update has Oxenfree 2 bleeding backwards in time

Delightfully good indie horror game Oxenfree has gotten a new update, and it looks like the dimension and time bending weirdness is bleeding from the upcoming sequel into the first game. With Oxenfree 2: Lost Signal on the way, developers Night School Studio have crossed the streams of games about crossing the streams.

Adobe software works better when pirated. Change my mind.

I suppose this is the digital future that we have all been fearing and if not, we should be. Even if you have the physical media, it's useless without the activation server. And thus, the only way for you to reinstall the old version is to pirate it!

PlayStation 4 emulation on the PC is here

Still very early and probably gonna take 3-5 years for it to be some where decent but least you can play 50 or so 2d games. It also only works in Linux. But you gotta start somewhere!

[Gamers Nexus] When Thermal Cameras Shouldn't Be Used (PS5, Xbox, CPU Coolers, & Cases)

There was a bit of a controversy when people found out that Sony revised their cooling solutions with the new PS5s that are coming out. So an youtuber named Austin Evans tried to measure whether or not the new ones is better or worse by pointing a thermal camera. What he got was that the new one "runs hotter" than the old one. GN is here to show how doing that can lead to very inaccurate results because of the fact that if the PS5 is "hotter" than the old one, it could very easily mean that it's pumping out the hot air more efficiently than the old one. So the testing method of people in general pointing Thermal cameras should be taken with caution. While it is possible that the new PS5 is indeed worse, that's not the way to try and find out. GN is getting one of those PS5s from DF so hopefully, they will show us if it's actually better or worse.

Deathloop on PC Supports DualSense Features, RT, HDR, and NVIDIA Reflex; No Crossplay

https://wccftech.com/deathloop-on-pc-supports-dualsense-features-rt-hdr-and-nvidia-reflex-no-crossplay/

As usual, Ray Tracing continues to be one of the main features of next gen games although some games have very light uses of Ray Tracing. Hopefully they will add in DLSS at some point as it has Nvidia Reflex.

God of War, Gran Turismo 7, Ghost of Tsushima, Demon’s Souls, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank coming to PC according to NVIDIA Geforce NOW

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/god-of-war-gran-turismo-7-ghost-of-tsushima-demons-souls-are-coming-to-pc-according-to-nvidia-geforce-now/

NVIDIA GeForce Now may have leaked the next Playstation-only games that will be coming to the PC. According to its database, God of War, Gran Turismo 7, Ghost of Tsushima, Demon’s Souls Remake, Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West and Ratchet & Clank are all coming to PC.

Three of the games listed and with Steam ID have already been released: Days Gone, Horizon and Helldivers (that came to PC in 2015) meaning that there's only left with and ID, God of War, and that would already be enough to blow some people's minds. Also, Uncharted may not have an ID yet, but it has already been confirmed to come to PC.

As for the others, Demon's Souls have been rumored to come to PC so many times that it will be hard to trust any new rumor about it until it's confirmed. Ghost of Tsushina is too new and the PS5 port has just been released. I doubt we'll see it on PC for at least another year, and the situation is even worse with Gran Turismo 7, that still hasn't been released on consoles.

We're on the PS5 and the PS3 emulators still aren't perfect, so yeah, it will still take some time.

Hopefully, with these last two gens adopting x86 processors, the emulation scene may be a bit faster, but not by much.

Hopefully they come to Windows. I hate Linux because of the issues setting them up and just don't have much love for non Ubuntu like Debian distros.

I think only the database entries that actually list a platform and not "none" or "unknown" should be taken with any interest.

So I'd say God of War coming to Steam looks quite likely, the rest are just placeholder database entries with no substance yet.

As Some people have pointed out that the Nvidia database has all sorts of games in it. Including things such as New Super Mario Bros Wii, Man of Steel, Shin Megami Tensei 5, Wreckfest 2, Gears of War 6.... etc etc.

Most likely, but if Sony is willing to bring God of War to PC, anything is possible.

More leaks here. Returnal and Demon Souls also seem likely to be coming to PC. The GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas Remasters appear there too. There's an entry for Half-Life 2 Remastered.

As for the Nintendo games that is probably due to Nvidia partnering with it to bring the games to its Shield device in China.

I think Half-Life 2 Remastered is confirmed, but it's somewhere along the lines of a mod or Black Mesa, i.e. it's fan-made. The GTA games seem pretty likely too.

To each their own, but that's definitely contrary to my experience. Setup is typically quite easy and I can easily automate a lot of it, unlike on Windows. I suppose if you need to install some special enough hardware, you might run into some issues. I've had issues with setting up WLAN in the past, but recently it's worked out of the box. I suppose it does depend on the distro though. Anyway, if the emulator becomes properly open-source at some point (i.e. practically all the code with a good license), a Windows version is practically guaranteed at some point. There will almost certainly be an emulator that runs on Windows anyway, even if it's a different one. That is, unless Windows somehow loses its position as the 'gaming OS'.

There is a pretty good chance it will come to Windows sooner or later mainly because a lot of these emulation projects end up in patreon and making a ton of money. But the only real way to make money is to cater to the masses thus Windows... If the developer of Spine won't do it, someone else will.

Whelp looks like Deathloop is another victim of a poor port/optimisation or even Denuvo -

The guy has performance issues with a 3080Ti!

https://www.reddit.com/r/Deathloop/comments/pnrmzz/the_game_is_pretty_unplayable_on_pc_right_now/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Deathloop/comments/pnqmfi/is_the_stuttering_on_pc_occurring_with_gsync/

Granted a lot of these comment are from Ampere GPU owners, a couple of posts in the there who own a GTX 1070 don't appear to have the same issue. It might be that some settings like Ultra are poorly optimised for select setups.
