Death's Door reaches over 100,000 players in its first week

Zeldalike Death's Door has reached over 100,000 players in its first week, according to developer Acid Nerve. It's an impressive feat for the tiny corvid action-adventure, as most indie games don't attract that sort of playerbase at launch, and a game's first month is usually its best—let alone its first week.

Suddenly popular Portal-inspired FPS Splitgate was scheduled to launch into 1.0 on July 27 after a couple of years spent in Early Access, but that's been delayed until August. Draft of Darkness is a game I did not know existed this morning, and now it is a game I must play. It's one of those where to explain it you need to smoosh a lot of concepts together: it's a lo-fi, top-down horror roguelike, where combat happens via card battles and the game's overarching loop is about deckbuilding for each run. It's also one of those where, if you take a look at the trailer, you get the appeal instantly: and it's out in a few days.

Intel's Process Roadmap to 2025: with 4nm, 3nm, 20A and 18A?!

So going forward, Intel is rebranding it's nodes. So when Intel says "7nm," it's actually the same node as their "10nm." One thing I will say is that the density on Intel's rebranded 7nm is still higher than TSMC's 7nm so I can see why. But the naming will get a bit confusing.

One thing I will say is that, while it's a neat and interesting concept, I feel like without being able to upgrade your motherboard (which upgrades the CPU/GPU) the draw falls apart for me. Cause sure, you can change up the IO but most laptops including thin and light ones comes with all the IO you need so you don't have to change them. Sure you can change speakers and such but the likely hood of those failing is very low. And most laptops do allow you to upgrade the Ram and storage including thin and light ones. The battery is the only mixed bag as some have glue and others don't.

So for me, the idea of an upgradable laptop where you can't seem to upgrade the motherboard falls flat. Cause that's the one component that people actually want to upgrade 3-4 years down the line as stronger CPU/GPU come out. So while I like the idea, I'll wait and see if they ever announce upgradable motherboards.

So in other words, since they're unable to make smaller nodes, they just start calling them smaller until they catch up to the competition? Brilliant!

Also, not sure what to think of Meteor Lake. It really needs to make a big jump to catch up to AMD. Alder Lake already has troubles beating Zen 3, and Meteor Lake will most likely be pitted against Zen 5 by the time it releases.

A 49-inch monitor?

That's larger than my 46-inch TV ffs. Who has a desk large enough to fit a thing like that and still can see the entire screen?

The other way to look at it is before Intel was only some what off with there naming from reality and now they just as far off from reality as TSMC, Samsung etc.  None of the companies process node name actually close in anyway to the actual size of anything.  Which is why even after the name change Intel new 7nm is still slightly more dense then TSMC 7nm.

This hyper-realistic Minecraft map looks as good as the real deal
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/this-hyper-realistic-minecraft-map-looks-as-good-as-the-real-deal/
Community created Minecraft builds continue to blow people's minds, and a new map built by user qwryzu is another impressive example of what's possible with a lot of blocks. The build is called 'Vales of Amoril' and is a custom continent map complete with snowy mountains, dense forests, winding rivers, and lush valleys. The level of detail that qwryzu has put into the build is astonishing, I had to do a double-take to make sure it wasn't a photograph.
On their Planet Minecraft page, qwryzu explains that the build took them four months of work, and plenty of practice through the other smaller maps they've created. They use the usual software for Minecraft building—World Machine and World Painter—but include the detail that all the rivers were created by hand, which is impressive considering the patience involved.
