Final Fantasy 7 Remake will most likely come to PC in 2022, Playstation exclusivity extended

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/final-fantasy-7-remake-will-most-likely-come-to-pc-in-2022-playstation-exclusivity-extended/

The fact that we have this nonsense in 2021 annoys me to no end. I bought the game on ps4 and I will get the DLC on ps5 as well but come on. Give it to me on PC already... Urghh SE and Sony just Urghh

Watch it then go exclusive to that other store, and then SE expect folks on Steam to pay full price for part 1 by 2023...

I think it's time I stopped bothering with SE, because they don't seem to care about my money or port quality these days.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Urghh so annoying cause I really like playing this game. I'd just rather buy it again on PC so that I can mod it for a better experience. Sighhhhh (Obviously I wouldn't buy it if it goes on EGS but least we have other ways of getting games once it goes on PC)

The problem is that we don't know how big of an improvement will Lovelace be to Ampere in RT so, even if AMD manages to double or triple its performance, things could end in the same awkward situation.

I think (and I know that it's easy to say something like this for someone that doesn't know shit), that they should double thei RT hardware per CU. With RDNA2 they have 1 RT core per CU, and that has proved to not be enough. They should increase that to 2 RT cores per CU, plus the extra CUs from the new chiplet design. Pack in the extra refinements and improvement that come from a second iteration, and then we would be onto something.

Yea it's also quite hard to tell where the bottleneck is for AMD. The main difference at a high level between Nvidia and AMD's implementation is that Nvidia's RT cores does both Intersections and BVH traversal where as RDNA 2's Ray Accelerators only does Intersections and leaves the BVH traversal to the CUs. Now the main benefit with leaving it up to the CUs is that on consoles, developers can fine tune it but on PC as both Direct X Ray Tracing and Vulkan Ray Tracing doesn't allow such fine tuning as of yet, there doesn't seem to be any benefit. But no one actually knows what benefit it would even have even if the PC Apis would allow it since even on consoles, you have ps5/series X which are similar to 2070 Super and 2080 performance in Raster but in heavy RT games, they are more like 2060 Super even though consoles have low level advantages.

But regardless of which, I think the next jump for PC hardware is gonna be one fap worthy jump. Lets just hope that the price doesn't increase by much and the miners/scalpers won't interfere to this extent.

Yep. Two different approaches to RT, each with its pros and cons.

And, like you, I also hope that the next time we get new hardware, we don't have to go through the pains of a f*cking mining craze.

Was playing Resident Evil Village...

In order to quit out of the game, someone at Capcom thought it was a good idea to use Delete button instead of Escape...

Also there is no FOV slider but it does support Ultrawide Aspect Ratio and resolution. Thank You Capcom for half caring about Ultrawide gamers like myself. Least it runs really well with RT on.

Epic Games offered $200m to Sony for 1st party titles on EGS and more

https://www.resetera.com/threads/epic-games-offered-200m-to-sony-for-1st-party-titles-on-egs-and-more.422222/

From the court war of course...

Looks like Epic is trying to get all 3 to come to their store. Personally I can see Sony doing it. I doubt MS will and Nintendo would rather commit seppuku than bring anything to PC let alone be EGS exclusive. It is kinda funny if it happens because Sony invested 200 million in Epic and now Epic is essentially just giving that money back.

And spitting on their faces as well.

I am starting to feel I might be the sole Epic supporter on this site. I definitely won't stand for Steam though: if you're going to censor, just can the whole thing. Either you do or you don't. I'm tired of the middling bullshit everyone is selling today and Epic seems to be the only store with a spine to say "no" outright.

If what you are referring to is porn games, I think it's more so a problem with western culture in general more so than anything. Steam has guidelines but other than that, it's left to the employees to determine what falls under such guidelines and what doesn't which delves greatly into subjective category. But employees  probably are told to go the "safe than sorry" route thanks to payment companies like PayPal hating the idea of associating themselves with companies that sell porn content. As an example, if you were to buy games from DLSite in the past which has Adult and non Adult sections, in the Adult sections, your payment options are quite limited vs non adult sections where you can use Paypal and what not. Hell these days, Paypal isn't even an option for DLsite after the whole pornhub nonsense.

But to each their own. I think Steam is being very progressive in the era where western culture get very cringy when it comes to the topic of sexual content. Allowing adult games in their store even if it's censored versions (and sometimes uncensored versions) allows those games to gain much more sales than they would have if Steam didn't allow them in at all. And thanks to the way that PCs work, it's very easy to uncensor those games. Could they do things better? Sure. But there's a lot more other factors in play than just allow everything or don't and I am sure they would rather not lose a payment company like PayPal.

A western company saying "no" is easy cause everyone does it. Microsoft, EA, GOG, Ubisoft and etc all disallow porn games. A western company saying "yes" is the hard part...

Given that both Horizon Zero Dawn and Day Gone launched on Steam and the Epic Store at the same time, I guess that Sony refused that offer.

And MSoft dropping their cut from their Store is probably another sign that they refused. They may have given up and launch their games on Steam, but that's as far as they'll go.

Trying to for Nintendo... well, at least they admit that it woul be nothing short of a miracle. If Nintendo ever decides to brings its games on PC, I'm convinced that they'll do it through their own (very limited) store.

Epic v Apple: Apple's First Grilling (Day 4) (VL464)

It was overall a good day for Epic as they tried to show how apple did some questionable things. But Apple still seemed quite prepared vs Epic.

I'll probably be wrong, but I don't think Valve is in trouble for that lawsuit. Yes, they force price parity at Steam, but publishers can still offer discounts on other stores regardless of what happens on Steam, making the game efectively cheaper on other platforms.

Sony may be in a bigger trouble.

And lol at the Steam guesstimated sales. it's not only baseless in most cases where no official data is known besides th Platinum, Gold, etc classification, but Epic also has the balls to believe that they could have gotten 20% off those sales?

Oh, and that 6900H could be a very, very impressive chip, if those rumors were true.
