Epic Games offered $200m to Sony for 1st party titles on EGS and more

From the court war of course...

Looks like Epic is trying to get all 3 to come to their store. Personally I can see Sony doing it. I doubt MS will and Nintendo would rather commit seppuku than bring anything to PC let alone be EGS exclusive. It is kinda funny if it happens because Sony invested 200 million in Epic and now Epic is essentially just giving that money back.

And spitting on their faces as well.

I am starting to feel I might be the sole Epic supporter on this site. I definitely won't stand for Steam though: if you're going to censor, just can the whole thing. Either you do or you don't. I'm tired of the middling bullshit everyone is selling today and Epic seems to be the only store with a spine to say "no" outright.

If what you are referring to is porn games, I think it's more so a problem with western culture in general more so than anything. Steam has guidelines but other than that, it's left to the employees to determine what falls under such guidelines and what doesn't which delves greatly into subjective category. But employees  probably are told to go the "safe than sorry" route thanks to payment companies like PayPal hating the idea of associating themselves with companies that sell porn content. As an example, if you were to buy games from DLSite in the past which has Adult and non Adult sections, in the Adult sections, your payment options are quite limited vs non adult sections where you can use Paypal and what not. Hell these days, Paypal isn't even an option for DLsite after the whole pornhub nonsense.

But to each their own. I think Steam is being very progressive in the era where western culture get very cringy when it comes to the topic of sexual content. Allowing adult games in their store even if it's censored versions (and sometimes uncensored versions) allows those games to gain much more sales than they would have if Steam didn't allow them in at all. And thanks to the way that PCs work, it's very easy to uncensor those games. Could they do things better? Sure. But there's a lot more other factors in play than just allow everything or don't and I am sure they would rather not lose a payment company like PayPal.

A western company saying "no" is easy cause everyone does it. Microsoft, EA, GOG, Ubisoft and etc all disallow porn games. A western company saying "yes" is the hard part...
