The news, the sequel

Cloudpunk's City of Ghosts is a 'sequel-sized' DLC that adds hovercar street races
https://www.pcgamer.com/cloudpunks-city-of-ghosts-is-a-sequel-sized-dlc-that-adds-hovercar-street-races/
Cloudpunk, the taxi noir game that our own Fraser reckoned was the best Cyberpunk game of last year, is receiving an expansion that its developers describe as "sequel-sized," featuring a fully voiced campaign that "is even longer than the base game."

The newest Among Us map, The Airship, is now live
https://www.pcgamer.com/among-us-map-the-airship-live/
The wait is finally over, and the new Among Us map is now live. The Airship is the fourth map to be added to the game, and is also the biggest—and took longer than expected to arrive, developer Inner Sloth explained earlier this month, because of the sudden, extreme uptick in the game's popularity.

Hooray, World of Warcraft's next big update hits beta servers in just two weeks
https://www.pcgamer.com/hooray-world-of-warcrafts-next-big-update-hits-beta-servers-in-just-two-weeks/
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands' 9.1 update will be hitting the Public Test Realm in "about two weeks," Blizzard confirmed in a forum post today. It's fantastic news for WoW players who are growing bored of Shadowlands, as the update, titled Chains of Domination, will be bringing a new raid, mega-dungeon, story quests, and a new subzone in the Maw to explore.

Cyberpunk 2077 expansions are still in development, CD Projekt confirms

(...)
"We’ve been talking about the fact that there will be expansions for Cyberpunk for a while," senior vice president of business development Michał Nowakowski said. "We haven’t given any details in terms of their names or any potential SRP [suggested retail price] or anything like that, but yes, we can confirm we’re working on them. They’re in our plans."

The car in Rocket League's next Rocket Pass looks cool, rest of it is so-so

I wasn't into the R3mix car body in Rocket League's Season 2 Rocket Pass (...)
I think I'll struggle to resist the upcoming Season 3 Rocket Pass premium track, though. I really like the new car body, Tyranno, which has the Dominus hitbox. I especially like the stupid Tyranno variant and decal Psyonix shows off on the Season 3 Rocket Pass page—the one in the gallery below, which looks like it was designed to hurt our eyes by the dark lord of chromatic aberration.

Here's everything added in today's Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 Reloaded update
https://www.pcgamer.com/cod-warzone-season-2-reloaded-patch-notes/
We learned earlier this week that the Call of Duty: Warzone midseason update would weigh in at a whopping 134GB—or a relatively paltry 52GB for those willing to shuck Modern Warfare off their PCs. That update went live last night, which makes this a fine time to check out the patch notes to see what's changed.

Call of Duty: Warzone's next map leaks, is quickly struck down by Activision
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-warzones-next-map-leaks-is-quickly-struck-down-by-activision/
It's been a long wait for the new Call of Duty: Warzone map, and it's wearing some fans out. It should be over soon enough, though: The current expectation is that the new map will be added at the end of season 2, on or around April 22, when Verdansk, uhh, explodes (maybe).

Hackers are exploiting Call Of Duty: Warzone cheaters with malware
https://www.pcgamer.com/hackers-are-exploiting-call-of-duty-warzone-cheaters-with-malware/
Malware has been propagating through the Call Of Duty: Warzone scene disguised as a cheat, according to a new Activision security report (via Charlie Intel).

EA wants you to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge your way through competitive ball-hucker Knockout City, throwing up an open beta for the 3v3 arena this Friday through Monday.

This Fortnite stonks skin is not an April Fools' joke
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-fortnite-stonks-skin-is-not-an-april-fools-joke/
On a day where games companies love announcing fake crap, Epic Games has just dropped a very real stonks skin in Fortnite.
The Diamond Hanz outfit is now available for 1,200 V-Bucks and comes with the classic stonks man himself, given a bit of Fortnite flair with some ripped suit trousers and a dishevelled suit jacket. There's also the 'gains' back bling, which of course is a bright orange arrow for the tip on the meme iceberg.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey's rubbish taxis are here to stay
https://www.pcgamer.com/elite-dangerous-odysseys-rubbish-taxis-are-here-to-stay/
Three days into the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Alpha, and the mood around the space sim's next update is a little sour. Now, Frontier has addressed two major issues with the early test—though it perhaps fails to address some of Odyssey's more fundamental problems.

I'm quite surprised with Epic publishing it given that 505 Games did it with Control and both parts seemed pleased with the experience.

Well, I hope it's only half true and they're making the game, but it's not published by Epic and, therefore, can be distributed from every digital store.

That said, I should be thrilled by the idea of Alan Wake 2 finally happening, but it's been so long that, quite frankly, I'm over it . Besides, there's no way it will be able to live up to the hype.

If I recall correctly, Remedy does indeed have a deal with Epic, where Epic provides funding for some game development. I could be mistaken though, but it is indeed looking grim for getting the game elsewhere (assuming the rumour is true of course).

If Epic is funding it, I really doubt we'll see the game in any other PC store. Period. Why would they fund the game to let others like Valve win money from it?

It's still to early to know how the whole Cyberpunk 2077 story will end. Maybe CDP can manage to fix the game and we'll remember it as a proof that with love and dedication you can end delivering what you promised, like what happened with No Man's Sky, or maybe CDP gives up after a while and it will become a prime example of bad management and overhype.

We'll see.

They are self reflecting and studying their mistakes themselves.

Yep, posted about it in the news. In any case, that's far from being the most important lesson to be learned from the Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco.

That would seriously suck. Not just for us, but especially for the workers in the fabs, as they get shafted while the execs shovel the millions from the price hike.

Globalfoundries: My time has come!

But seriously, at this rate, Intel is going to end rolling on bucks and laughing at everyone: silly you, going AMD now...

Globalfoundries gave up a while ago. I'm not even sure if they've moved beyond 14nm yet.

I'd love to use the arrow keys, but if you have to move your character and use other keys like the Spacebar, Control, Shift, etc. there's no way to do that unless you use WASD.

The difference is pretty nutty. Least it does show that the yields on the 6700XT is quite good.

I used to, but I was a child back then. Then I became really annoyed at how difficult it is to move using arrow keys, jump using spacebar, aim using the mouse, and possibly even crouch using whatever key at the same time (crouch jump), so I finally gave in and switched WASD. It's so much better, and probably more ergonomic as well (unless you use the mouse with your left hand).

Staggering difference. AMD's supply is simply awful.

Nope, you're not. Welcome to the club, most of the members are retrogamers who predate the use of wasd/zqsd (on azerty keyboards) for movement.

Demo released of the Jurassic Park: Trespasser VR Mod for Half-Life: Alyx
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/demo-released-of-the-jurassic-park-trespasser-vr-mod-for-half-life-alyx/
Jurassic Park fans, here is something for you today. In February 2020, we informed you about a Jurassic Park Trespasser VR Mod for Half-Life: Alyx. And yesterday, modder Stevokenevo released a beta demo for it.
This demo features the first two levels from the game. This demo features placeholder graphics, so this is something you should keep in mind. Moreover, it features some raptors that can hunt you.
>> You'll find it at Steam, obviously.

Trespasser was a Jurassic Park game?

I can only remember the décolleté while checking the health bar heart tattoo:

With stock and at MSRP prices? Colour me surprised.

Anyway, guys, I need your wise advise... but I'll settle with just some kind of advise. My father's PC is slow as fuck and he's tired of it, so "we" are going to get a new one. He sets a budged and I do the rest. So far, the prebuild PCs I've seen are rubish or incomplete (like not including a Windows license), so I'll get the needed parts: CPU, mobo, RAM and an SSD to make it even more responsive.

His current PC has an FX 6300 (yeah, it has some years in it) and while almost anyhting will be faster than it, I don't really want to settle for something with only 4 cores/4 threads or less.

With that in mind, it turns out that the best option I've seen is the i5 11400. Trust me, I wasn't expecting that, but with 6-cores/12-threads, it fits the bill and it's not stupidly expensive, plus H410 motherboards are cheap and the DDR4 2666HMz RAM that it supports is also more affordable.

By the way, AMD is not an option, sadly. Their CPUs either don't have an iGPU, and there's no way to add a GPU within the budget (plus it would be a waste of money), or the ones that have one are either 4-cores/4-threads (2200G/3200G) that are slower than the Intel processor, or are quite more expensive than it while not being better. And by "quite more" I mean that I could almost buy a cheap H410 motherboard with the difference.

So, what do you think? Any suggestions?
