So?

Those are for Fallen Order, and the same can be found on any EA game that has launched on Steam since their comeback, and I don't remember any of you complaining back then, only saying how EA had given up and come back to Steam.

I am not complaining about Origin. I just find it funny that EA's own description says "One Launcher" even though it's two launchers. Like why even say "One Launcher" if you are gonna have two? Just don't even mention it loll.

In this case, I could almost bet that the one launcher statement is not about Steam or Origin, but the screen, menu or well, launcher, that will appear when you open the game and that will let you choose which of the three games to play, as well as the usual options and such.

Misleading, yes, but still true.

I love the Mass Effect Trilogy, but I'll pass... at least until the new collection gets a deep discount.
Which should happen quite fast based on other EA Remasters.

Also a discount on Steam but none in their own store... they seem eager to pay Valve the 20 - 30 percent toll.

I'll buy Mass Effect Trilogy on Xbox, but likely wait for the inevitable PC discount... Already played the trilogy heavily modded at 7680x1440 on PC, so it's not like the 4k trilogy is likely to be a great leap over that.

It's Dragon Age: Origins that needs the most loving though, just did another play through and visually it's an ugly duckling, but it's still an amazing game to play.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command propaganda vid showcases a victorious bug hunt
https://www.pcgamer.com/starship-troopers-terran-command-propaganda-vid-showcases-a-victorious-bug-hunt/
Starship Troopers: Terran Command was announced in 2019 as a survival RTS based on the mid-90s Paul Verhoeven movie in which the Mobile Infantry leads the war against a horde of giant bugs who, for some reason, blew up Buenos Aires. (...)
We haven't heard much about it since, but today publisher Slitherine shared more information about what you'll be getting up to as you re-engage the forces of the Arachnids.

Really would have benefitted having the voice of the announcer from the movie.

And a "Would you like to know more?" at the end

Agree, with both ideas.

£55 for the Mass Effect Remasters... I want to do another playthrough of them again for like the 4th maybe 5th? time but I will wait for the guaranteed 50% discount in the next Winter Sale.

Yeah £55 is a lot for a remaster. Though at least there's some effort put into this than a pure HD port.

Really should wait for a sale but I don't think I have the willpower to wait for more Mass Effect lol

Valve to pay $4 million in Steam Controller patent infringement case
https://www.pcgamer.com/valve-to-pay-dollar4-million-in-steam-controller-patent-infringement-case/
Valve has been ordered to pay $4 million in damages, after a weeklong jury trial found that it had infringed a patent related to the Steam Controller's back controllers. Lawyers representing SCUF parent company Ironburg Inventions told the jury that Valve had been warned about Ironburg's patent in 2014, after a prototype of the Steam Controller was first shown at CES.
Ironburg's lawyer told the jury last week (via Law 360),"Valve's intentional disregard of its infringement is at the heart of this case."

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Realistic Driving Experience mod for Cyberpunk 2077

Realistic Driving Experience is a mod for Cyberpunk 2077. The mod aims to provide a realistic driving experience for the recent open-world role-playing game from CD Projekt Red.
Realistic Driving Experience offers better curve behavior, the possibility to drift, better suspension, better breaking, and last but not least, better handling for bikes.
According to the creator, the mod does not make driving easier, but rather harder. The aim is to make driving feel more realistic, especially when driving in the desert area of the game.

Cancelled Goldeneye 007 Remaster is playable on PC via the X360 emulator, Xenia
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/goldeneye-007-remaster-playable-pc-x360-emulator-xenia/
We’ve said it a lot of times and we’ll say it again; emulators are a must for preserving old games. Not only that, but they allow PC gamers to experience a number of console-only games on their platform. And, surprisingly enough, the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia, is able to run the cancelled Goldeneye 007 Remaster that was recently leaked online.
Let’s take things from the beginning though. Back in 2008, Nintendo, Activision and Microsoft agreed to remaster the classic Nintendo 64 game, Goldeneye 007, for Xbox 360. Activision was planning to release the game via XBLA. However, and at the last minute, the publisher decided to cancel it.
A couple of days ago, though, a video appeared on YouTube, featuring two hours of gameplay footage from that cancelled remaster. That was legit footage from a leaked build that gamers can download and play.
Now what’s really cool here is that this leaked build is playable on the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia. Not only that, but according to various reports, Goldeneye 007 Remaster works like a charm on Xenia.

PSA: Some Cyberpunk 2077 game mods/custom saves might make your PC vulnerable to attacks
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/psa-some-cyberpunk-2077-game-mods-custom-saves-might-make-your-pc-vulnerable-to-attacks/
Cyberpunk 2077 is already out on the PC, and we also have some custom mods for this game as well. Such as the the Enhanced Controls Mod, a vehicle controls/handling mod and the third-person experimental mod. And then there is a trainer that you can use in order to skip the game’s grinding.
Now it appears that CD Projekt Red’s Customer Support team has just issued a warning on Twitter against using similar Cyberpunk 2077 game mods from unknown sources. According to them, some external DDL files used by this game can be used to execute vulnerable code on PCs, making the game an exploit tool.

Part two of the news:

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition cuts Mass Effect 3 multiplayer entirely
https://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-cuts-mass-effect-3-multiplayer-entirely/
BioWare has revealed more details on Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, and one of them is sure to disappoint series fans: Mass Effect 3's excellent multiplayer mode is no longer part of the experience. This is a particular bummer as ME3's multiplayer was woven into the campaign itself.
>> And the Collector's Edition doesn't come with the games, not physical nor digital.

In Mass Effect: Legendary Edition the first game is a partial remake, the sequels are remasters
https://www.pcgamer.com/in-mass-effect-legendary-edition-the-first-game-is-a-partial-remake-the-sequels-are-remasters/
In a developer stream detailing the upcoming Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, BioWare explained some of the few changes that have been made to gameplay, and why. They all involve the first game in the series, which makes sense as the first Mass Effect was mostly an RPG, the action wasn't so slick, and the sequels focused on greatly improving the feel of combat.
So the first Mass Effect game in its Legendary Edition form has received substantial changes to the combat system and UI, with various interfaces overhauled, and things brought in-line with the sequels' improvements: better aiming, squad controls, team AI, and camera positioning. On the last point, for example, you'd commonly take cover in that game and get a brief view of the interior of Shepard's skull: no more. Finally, and perhaps most-wanted of all, the handling of the Tonka-like Mako surface vehicle has been overhauled. I always hated the way this thing drove, so good news.
>> At least the three games will now support 21:9 screens.

Today Owlcat announced the start of the first beta test, open to backers of that Kickstarter and the subsequent "Slacker Backer" campaign. The beta will include the prologue and first four chapters of the game, which the developers said adds up to more than 50 hours of "beta quality content"—don't be surprised if you hit a few bumps along the way, in other words.

Call of Duty: Warzone bans 60,000 cheaters in one massive wave
https://www.pcgamer.com/cod-warzone-ban-wave/
It sounds like Call of Duty: Warzone hackers are having a bad day. According to Vice, speaking to multiple sources familiar with the situation, Activision issued a ban wave to over 60,000 accounts using cheats in Warzone. The publisher has yet to confirm as much, but customers of one cheat distributor are saying their accounts are permanently banned.
Update: In a blog post posted today, Activision confirmed that it banned over 60,000 accounts for cheating in a single wave. The post also mentions that, to date, over 300,000 cheaters have been banned since Warzone's launch.

Activision confirms Call of Duty: Warzone uses 'internal anti-cheat software' as it reaches 300,000 bans to-date
https://www.pcgamer.com/activision-confirms-call-of-duty-warzone-uses-internal-anti-cheat-software-as-it-reaches-300000-bans-to-date/
Activision wants Call of Duty: Warzone players to know that it's taking the game's major cheating problem seriously. That's the message behind a new blog post from the publisher after weeks of player complaints calling for a crackdown on cheating. In addition to confirming today's ban wave of over 60,000 accounts, Activision stated that Warzone does, indeed, have its own "internal anti-cheat software."

EA isn't slowing down on Star Wars games despite losing exclusivity, CEO says
https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-isnt-slowing-down-on-star-wars-games-despite-losing-exclusivity-ceo-says/
In January, Disney announced that a reconstituted Lucasfilm Games would be the official home of all future Star Wars games, a blast of nostalgia that put a very big question mark on Electronic Arts' exclusive license to the property. That question was answered the next day when Lucasfilm revealed that a brand new Star Wars game is being developed by Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment studio.
A couple of hours after that big bit of news dropped, Electronic Arts recommitted to its relationship with the Star Wars brand by way of Twitter.

The Mandalorian is coming to kill you in Fortnite's latest LTM

Red Dead Online will give you a horse, a hat, a coat, anything, if you'll please come back
https://www.pcgamer.com/red-dead-online-will-give-you-a-horse-a-hat-a-coat-anything-if-youll-please-come-back/
Rockstar's magnificent Red Dead Redemption 2 has the slightly-less-magnificent multiplayer form of Red Dead Online, a cowpoke-filled sandbox where you can ride around shooting things, ride around and shoot some more things, and then maybe top it off by riding around and shooting things. Whereas GTAV and GTA Online remain two sides of the same game, however, Rockstar recently spun-out Red Dead Online into its own standalone release: the game is still available at its launch discount for $5 until February 15.
(...)
Rockstar says Red Dead Online's standalone launch has seen a "tremendous response", so much so that it's throwing a bunch of RDO content at any player (whether using the standalone client or RDR2) who's logged in between December 1st and February 15.

Blind Drive is a comedy thriller you can play with your eyes closed

You've been kidnapped in your own car, chained to the steering wheel, and forced to follow mysterious orders from a voice on the phone that has your gran held hostage. Oh, and you've been blindfolded. Not exactly ideal road etiquette, is it?
Blind Drive, a comedy arcade debut from developer Lo-Fi People, is a driving game played with your ears. And yes, while it sports some light visuals with a jazzy, Ape Out-style pulp flair, Blind Drive can (and arguably should) be played blindfolded—or at least, with your monitor switched off.
