The Epic story continues. So after I dared yesterday to try and play Rocket League my Steam account is now linked to a randomly created Epic account instead of my real one. So I opened a ticket with support.

I also found a solution that might fix it, but I'm hesitant because it could fuck up my account.

edit: Did the solution in the FAQ, worked like a charm.

After checking with Canada Computers, Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg and Nvidia. The only one I saw that was in stock was in newegg and it was the Evga XC3. I could have bought it before it went out of stock but yea naw, I ain't getting the weakest of the bunch.

The waiting game now begins!

Computerbase tested the Asus TUF Gaming OC and the MSI Gaming X Trio. They are both straight up better at everything than the FE. Now if I could only buy a card somewhere.

AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 fixes a number of issues that AMD owners had with the previous drivers.
Going into more details, this new driver resolves the performance issues in Project CARS 3 when the Radeon Software performance metrics overlay is active. It also fixes some flickering issues in Borderlands 3 in some locations when Radeon Boost was active.

Crusader Kings 3 is that rare beast: a hugely popular medieval-inspired game that doesn't chuck in a load of fantasy tropes alongside its real-world history. As someone who was a medievalist scholar in another life I can appreciate the developers' attempts to keep things grounded in reality (though I also like the fact that the game gives you options to toggle things like allowing female heirs into the line of succession and decriminalising same-sex relationships—allowing you to tailor exactly how gloomily real you want your realism to be on any given day).
Whether you regard it as a logical next step in adding more appealing and varied features to the game, or an inevitable concession to players who simply can't enjoy medieval Europe without Merlin doddering around magicking swords into stones, I think we can all agree that a fantasy mod for this game was inevitable. And, sure enough, it's on its way with the announcement of Anbennar.
Fans of historical grand strategy games in general and 2013's Europa Universalis IV in particular may already be familiar with the name, as Anbennar has existed as a popular fantasy total conversion mod for that game since 2018. Now, a large team of modders working collaboratively—led by Jay10101, who first started work on the mod six years ago—are bringing Anbennar to Crusader Kings 3.

During its recent livestream, Crytek confirmed that Crysis Remastered will feature a classic nanosuit mode. This classic mode features the original nanosuit functionalities that PC gamers enjoyed in the original PC version of Crysis.
By default, the game will be using the X360/PS3 nanosuit mode. In order to enable the classic PC nanosuit mode, you’ll have to enable it from the game’s options menu.

Today was a big day for virtual reality. The Oculus Quest 2 VR headset was officially revealed, Ubisoft confirmed that new Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed VR games are in the works, and Electronic Arts announced that Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is coming on December 11, and will be multiplatform. Several others, some new and some updates to existing games, were also announced.
One game industry executive who doesn't share that enthusiasm, however, is Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick. Asked about he potential impact of cloud gaming, and Stadia in particular, he said in an interview with Protocol that "any new distribution vehicle that offers high-quality, efficiency and a reasonable price is good for our business," but also used VR as a cautionary tale about getting too caught up in the hype.

A reboot of the classic six-degrees-of-freedom shooter Descent was Kickstarted in 2015, raising $601,773. Five years later it's tangled up in a messy legal dispute between developer Descendent Studios and publisher Little Orbit, in which Little Orbit claim that Descendent failed to meet milestones and quality standards, and then stopped working on the game completely. Descendent launched a countersuit, alleging that it was Little Orbit's demands for additional console ports and other technical work that caused the delays, and that the publisher had failed to meet its financial commitments and promotional obligations.

Story-rich RPG and all-round indie darling Undertale celebrated its fifth birthday this week, with a full orchestral performance of the game's soundtrack among the festivities. Of course, with most musicians still in lock-down along with the rest of us, the concert wasn't live. Instead, a recording from May 2019 was streamed to YouTube, along with some new material; so, if you somehow missed your invitation to see the original performance in Tokyo last year, now is an excellent time to get caught up.

I guess there is no way I'm getting my hands on a 3080 before the weekend. Some shops are listing it but without reliable delivery dates.
