What kind of leak would you need? Is it really much of a difference if a 3090 costs 1500 or 2000 or 2500?

Yes, for ordinary people, because the price of that card will also have an impact on the price of the rest of the cards. After all who would buy a 3080Ti for 1500 if you could SLI two 3070 for 1000?

Remember last gen, the 2080Ti was $1200, the 2080 $800 and the 2070 $600.

Mortal Shell's beta had over 350,000 players
https://www.pcgamer.com/mortal-shells-beta-had-over-350000-players/
Mortal Shell is a forthcoming Souls-like from Cold Symmetry, which opened its beta to the public due to popular demand. That beta is now over and the developers have shared some of the numbers, which is why we know that over five million people watched it being streamed on Twitch and YouTube, over 350,000 people played it, and the merchant's cat was stroked over 150,000 times.
>> Good numbers for a beta.

Sea of Thieves hits 15 million players, 1 million of them on Steam
https://www.pcgamer.com/sea-of-thieves-hits-15-million-players-1-million-of-them-on-steam/
Sea of Thieves has passed the 15 million player milestone, with over one million of those being from the recent Steam release alone.
Although it launched to a lukewarm reception in 2018, Sea of Thieves has clearly grown a lot. Interestingly, the majority of its 15 million players began their piracy adventures in 2020, with the first six months of the year seeing more players than the entirety of 2019, which itself eclipsed 2018's numbers. June this year alone saw 3.3 million players, and Rare has attributed this success to the Steam release of the game, which launched on June 3.

Paper Mario: The Origami King can now run with 60fps on PC via Nintendo Switch Emulator Yuzu
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/paper-mario-the-origami-king-can-now-run-with-60fps-on-pc-via-nintendo-switch-emulator-yuzu/
A couple of days ago, we informed you about Paper Mario: The Origami King running on the Nintendo Switch emulators, Yuzu and Ryujinx. And today, we are happy to report that there is a 60fps mod for it, allowing the game to run with 60fps on the PC via the Nintendo Switch emulator Yuzu.
(...)
Now while there is already a 60fps mod for it, there are still some slowdowns here and there. My guess is that the Yuzu team will be able to address them in the later versions of the emulator. Still, PC gamers can already enjoy Paper Mario: The Origami King at higher framerates. After all, the Nintendo Switch version is locked at 30fps.

This mod allows you to play Halo 3 in third-person mode
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-mod-allows-you-to-play-halo-3-in-third-person-mode/
Modder ‘parapara’ has released a new mod for Halo 3 that allows you to play its campaign mode in third-person mode. This mod supports both solo and co-op modes. Naturally, though, every user must have the mod installed, otherwise you won’t be able to play in co-op.
This is a pretty simple mod that enables a third-person camera viewpoint. The game has a full 3D model for Master Chief, so you can expect basically everything; from reloading and changing weapons to proper running/walking/jumping mechanics.
In order to install the mod, you’ll have to place the map files in your steam/steamapps/common/halomasterchiefcollection/halo3/maps folder. Do note that you’ll also have to disable Easy Anticheat, otherwise the mod will not work.
>> You can get it from Nexus Mods.

Free Bloodborne demake with Zelda-like graphics is available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/free-bloodborne-demake-with-zelda-like-graphics-is-available-for-download/
Bloodborne fans, here is something special for you today. Max Mraz has released a free demake of Bloodborne in a Zelda-like top-down game. This fan Bloodborne Demake uses the Solarus engine, and you can download it right now.
Max Mraz has recreated the entire Central Yharnam, allowing players to explore the streets of a cursed, gothic town, hunting beasts and uncovering twisted bosses.
In Yarntown, players have a normal melee attack, a charged attack, pistol shots and a dodge roll. Now as you may have guessed, these mechanics are more similar to the 2D Zelda SNES game than to Bloodborne. So yeah, consider this demake a mashup of Bloodborne and Zelda.
>> There's a video of the mod, that you can download from here.

CookiePLMonster has patched the ‘black blob’ artifacting issue in Mass Effect on AMD Ryzen CPUs
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/cookieplmonster-has-patched-the-black-blob-artifacting-issue-in-mass-effect-on-amd-ryzen-cpus/
After 9 years game developer Adrian who also goes by the name Silent or CookiePLMonster, has finally fixed the strange ‘black blob’ artifacting/glitch issue in Mass Effect, that only impacted AMD FX and Ryzen processor systems.
Just in case you didn’t know about this old Game glitch/bug, when Mass Effect was released, the PC port was affected by a mysterious ‘blocky’ character texture issue, when AMD released its Bulldozer-based CPUs in 2011, and it even effects all the current AMD Ryzen processors. As you can see from this video the character models are all in ‘black shapes’.
‘Adrian’ has actually posted a fix that works with both the Steam and Origin version of the Mass Effect game and doesn’t require an ASI Loader or any third-party software.
>> You can learn more in his blog post and download the fix from GitHub.

Turn-based tactical RPG Fae Tactics launches on July 31
https://www.pcgamer.com/turn-based-tactical-rpg-fae-tactics-launches-on-july-31/
We checked out Fae Tactics in June at the PC Gaming Show, where developer Endlessfluff Games showcased the "menuless" strategy game about a young magic user named Peony who casts spells, summons allies, and makes friends (and probably a few enemies) as she roams a world devastated by a magical calamity. The studio said at the time that the game would be out sometime this summer, and today it nailed the release down to July 31.

https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-is-scrubbing-washingtons-team-name-from-madden-nfl-21/
After years of resistance, Washington's National Football League team announced earlier this week that its name will be changed to something that isn't a racial slur. A new name hasn't been settled on, though, which leaves the next iteration of the Madden series in an awkward limbo. EA announced it will make the team "generic" in the upcoming Madden NFL 21, until the new name and logo are decided.

On Friday afternoon, reports began appearing on Twitter from people who were unable to connect to chat program Discord or Riot shooter Valorant. At the time, I could not connect to either.
Update (7/18): Cloudflare says the outage was caused by a "configuration error" and lasted 27 minutes. For the curious, the company breaks down what happened in a blog post, and says it has taken steps to prevent the error from reoccurring. It also stresses that the outage "was not caused by an attack or breach of any kind."

Science-fantasy roguelike Caves of Qud has a huge new update with a massive, 12-level dungeon called the Tomb of the Eaters. Hell Let Loose debuts urban combat and new animations for a free weekend

(...) The WW2 shooter's Update 7 - Battle of Carentan introduces a hellish-looking urban combat map the developers showed off last month. It's about as terrifying as you'd expect, and that's a good thing, because it is a fun change of pace from the hedgerows and forests of prior maps.

Minecraft players may have found the world of the title screen
https://www.pcgamer.com/minecraft-players-may-have-found-the-world-of-the-title-screen/
After a comprehensive month-long search and some clever distributed computing, Minecraft players have discovered what may well be the world seed for the title menu's panorama background. First added to the game in 2011 and only relatively recently replaced in patch 1.13, the background panorama is a pretty iconic bit of gaming history. However, just what world the panorama was from wasn't known until yesterday, when some digital explorers found the world(s) in question and posted it to Reddit.

Organic city-builder Foundation now has minerals to mine and complex craftsmanship
https://www.pcgamer.com/organic-city-builder-foundation-now-has-minerals-to-mine-and-complex-craftsmanship/
Foundation is a medieval city-builder that touts its lack of a grid as a major feature. It's a game where your peoples' feet determine where roads go as much as you do. They'll take the short route between two points and over time that'll become a road. You just tell them where to do stuff, not exactly what to do.
Its been a bit since we checked in with the game, and it looks like the developers have been pretty busy. A new update adds precious minerals and an expanded crafting system to the game. The nodes require your bailiff to go prospecting, hoping to find gold (but probably just finding iron), before being converted into scaffolded open mines.

Physics-based fencing in Hellish Quart is looking real good
https://www.pcgamer.com/physics-based-sword-dueling-in-hellish-quart-is-looking-real-good/
Who likes swordfights? Swashbuckling? Fencing? Fighting games? Here's one for you: Hellish Quart, a physics-driven indie fighting game that promises to emulate the real cut-and-thrust of close combat in the 17th century. That's right: It's the era of musketeers and janissaries and cossacks. Superb. The game uses motion captured moves from actual fencers, and 3D-scanned reproductions of period clothing, to give the feeling of authenticity. The solo indie developer, called Kubold, is an animator and motion capture actor who worked on The Witcher 3.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars details gang warfare in the grim, dark future
https://www.pcgamer.com/necromunda-underhive-wars-details-its-gang-warfare-in-the-grim-dark-future/
After going silent for a bit, Necromunda: Underhive Wars popped back up earlier this year in preparation for a Summer 2020 release. That's still on, and the developers are finally releasing details about how the game will play. Necromunda is a tactical skirmish game set in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe from Games Workshop, and the video game adaptation is the video game companion of the genre, a tactical RPG. In the story, Necromunda is a human "hive-world," where tens of billions of people labor in massive, overbuilt sky-scraping megacities. In Necromunda, you take control of a criminal gang in the depths beneath the hive.

Strange Adventures in Infinite Space is back, free
https://www.pcgamer.com/strange-adventures-in-infinite-space-is-back-free/
Strange Adventures in Infinite Space was a sci-fi roguelike developed by Digital Eel and published by Cheapass Games back in 2002. https://www.pcgamer.com/dying-lights-hellraid-dlc-has-been-delayed-yet-again/

The DLC, which incorporates elements of Techland's cancelled Hellraid as a procedurally-generated dungeon crawler, was due to launch this week on July 23. However, in a tweet from Techland, it's been announced the release has been pushed back to August 13, in order to apply suggestions made by the community after a recent beta test.

https://www.pcgamer.com/one-third-of-developers-have-had-their-games-delayed-due-to-covid-19/
One third of developers have had their projects delayed due to the coronavirus.
In a survey by the Game Developers Conference (which itself has had to go digital-only for its conference this year due to the virus), 33% of developers claim the game they have been working on has been delayed, citing reasons such as the transition from working at home as the primary cause of these delays. In the report, it is claimed up to 70% of developers have had to move to working from home since the pandemic began.

Paradox really starts to become a very big Publisher. I just hope they don't fall like the other big ones, they DLC are already a bit ludicrous but thankfully no lootboxes or predatory microtransactions yet...

Are we really needing yet another generational thread about how PC's are all gonna be expensive or weak, and that PC gaming is gonna be dead again?.

I mean, you'd think after a number of years on this site, that people would stop pulling that crap by now. People buy into what they want, it's not hard, it doesn't need number price stat crunching or anything. The whole "consoles are cheap, therefore better than PC's and everyone will drop PC" rhetoric is beyond stale at this point, and I honestly wish it'd die.
