I want free Assassin's Creed Blak Flag from Ubi

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

^ I doubt it will ever happen because it's one of the more popular games in the franchise.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

But it's also Ubisoft with probably a mandated uDontPlay client requirement...

It's actually worse than that: You can only get the four games and the collection from UPlay. Steam only gets Anno 1404's History Edition and the Epic Store gets 1404 and 1701.

Yep. It's a pass. A DRM free release on Gog.com is the only way I would make a purchase from Ubisoft on PC.

A couple of Anno games are at GOG, but the article doesn't mention if Ubi will launch the History editions of those games on the store. We'll see.

At least in Europe, according to Ubisoft, you can buy each of the four games individually for 9.99 or the entire collection.

SALES & DEALS

The Witcher series hits 50 million sales
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-series-hits-50-million-sales/
Geralt continues to be a very, very popular boy—clearly it's his easy-going nature and love of jokes—with CD Projekt reporting that sales exceeded 50 million copies this year. Not bad considering that the last of the trilogy launched five years ago, but since then there's been no dearth of The Witcher, with the likes of Thronebreaker and ports filling the gap since Geralt retired.
This time last year, CDP reported that it had surpassed 40 million sales, with more than half of those contributed by The Witcher 3 alone. That's a leap of around 10 million in only 12 months, which is wild considering that no new Witcher games have launched in the last year.
>> Impressive, and shikamaru317 already made a thread about it.

Borderlands The Handsome Collection is now free to own on Epic Games Store until June 4th

Epic Games has announced that Borderlands The Handsome Collection is available for free on Epic Games Store. From today and until June 4th, PC gamers can visit its EGS page and acquire their free copy.
Borderlands The Handsome Collection features 2 critically Borderlands games in one package. These two games are: Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Sludge Life is a funky vandalism sim and free on the Epic Games Store
https://www.pcgamer.com/sludge-life-is-a-funky-vandalism-sim-and-free-on-the-epic-games-store/
If you've got a lot of stuff bottled up and are looking for an outlet for your imminent explosion of artistic expression, look no further. Sludge Life is a freewheeling open-world romp that lets you wander around a grimy city tagging everything, and occasionally snapping tasteful photographs of a cat with two buttholes.
Sludge Life just launched on the Epic Games Store for the very special price of absolutely nothing. Zilch. Zero. It's got a dedicated fart button and you don't have to dip into your bank account—if you're asking for more you really need more realistic expectations. But there's more anyway.

Arkane's Arx Fatalis is free for the taking
https://www.pcgamer.com/arkanes-arx-fatalis-is-free-for-the-taking/
I said yesterday that it would be most excellent if Arkane Studios celebrated its 20th anniversary by announcing that an Arx Fatalis remaster was in the works. Sadly, it is not. But there is good news: For the next few days, the original Arx Fatalis is free.
(...)
To claim it, head over to the Arkane 20 page at bethesda.net and sign up for the "Arkane Outsiders" mailing list. Once that's done the game will automatically be added to your Bethesda.net library, accessible through the Bethesda launcher. It'll eat up about a gigabyte of drive space, and while it doesn't look so hot out of the box, it supports resolutions of up to 1920x1080, which isn't bad at all.

And talking about free stuff, Steam has two free DLCs for two different games:

The Humble Store has a new EA sale, with up to 85% discounts for the next 3 days. Obviously, all the games are for Origin: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/ea-sale/

MODS/EMULATORS

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition can already run on the Nintendo Switch Emulator, yuzu
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/xenoblade-chronicles-definitive-edition-can-already-run-on-the-nintendo-switch-emulator-yuzu/
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will release later today on Nintendo Switch and apparently yuzu can already run this game. In case you weren’t aware of, yuzu is one of the best Nintendo Switch emulators to date.
Now while performance is not that great, it’s pretty incredible witnessing a triple-A game running in it on launch day. However, the game currently has some major graphical glitches. The good news here is that the yuzu team is currently working on fixing these issues (or at least most of them). Therefore, we can expect this game to be playable in a matter of months.

You can now play the classic NES game Punch Out in first-person via Doom Engine
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/you-can-now-play-the-classic-nes-game-punch-out-in-first-person-via-doom-engine/
Punch-Out and Doom fans, here is something really special for you today. Modder ‘ddadd’ has released a must-have total conversion mod for Doom 2. As the title suggests, Punch-out Doom allows you to experience the classic Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! NES game in first-person perspective.
Now I strongly suggest downloading this mod right now. Nintendo may soon take it down as it uses all the original sprites from the NES version. After all, we’ve seen this happening in numerous fan games and mods.
Going into more details, this mod features all the fighters and sprites from the NES version. It also has Mario as the game’s referee. Players are able to select their opponent, and then fight them in the iconic NES arena.
The modder recommends using ZDoom in order to run this mod. You’ll also most likely need the Doom2.wad.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remako HD Graphics Mod is a must-have mod for all FFVII PC fans out there. This mod uses AI techniques in order to upscale all of the game’s pre-rendered backgrounds, battle, world textures, as well as the game’s full-motion videos (FMVs). And today, we are happy to report that modder CaptRobau is working on its next version.
Version 2.0 of the Remako Mod will bring HD magic textures. Naturally, the modder used AI techniques in order to upscale these textures. As such, these new HD textures retain the game’s original artistic style.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-witcher-3-redux-version-2-8-released-changes-some-quest-levels-fixes-rare-bug-more/
Aleks Vuckovic has released a brand new version of The Witcher 3 Redux Mod. According to the release notes, Version 2.8 brings changes to some quest levels to better reflect changes from this mod. Moreover, it fixes a rare bug where Flood of Anger could make Geralt move at 2X speed.
Furthermore, The Witcher 3 Redux Version 2.8 enhances the visual effect of the quen sign during storms. It also increases the shock-based sign damage boosts if it is raining or storming.
>> How often does he update his mod? He's doing it quite often lately. In any case, you can find it where always, Nexus Mods.

https://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/here-are-some-brand-new-screenshots-for-fast-furious-crossroads/
Alongside its latest gameplay trailer, Bandai Namco released a new set of screenshots for Fast & Furious Crossroads. As you will immediately notice, these screenshots look better than its gameplay trailer. So, either Slightly Mad Studios has photoshopped them in order to look better, or the gameplay footage in the trailer was from an older build. Thus, it will be interesting to see whether the PC version in 4K will look similar to these screenshots.

https://www.pcgamer.com/quake-like-fps-wrath-aeon-of-ruin-gets-pushed-into-2021/
The Quake-flavored retro shooter Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is really good. It's fast, loud, and bloody, and manages to feel modern while embracing an awesomely old-school aesthetic. It debuted on Steam Early Access in late 2019 with two levels and plans for a full release in summer 2020.

Mostly through a million abbreviations, but also through lots of fetching footage of realistic instruments.
