I saw it, but it's rather hidden compared to having a separate post like the other one, so it might bare repeating if that happens.

Oh, and Tomb raider is also available for free on Steam right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/203160/Tomb_Raider/?snr=1_4_4__40_2

Well, there was no DSOGaming nor PCGamer article about it, and given that it was Friday and that I usually post the GOG and Steam related weekend deals at the end of the second post, I thought that putting it there was the best option.

I have to say that I've thought several time about putting those weekend deals in the first post, with the rest of the deals, to make it easier to see.

Also, yes Tomb Raider 2013 and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris are both free. they weren't still free when I made the news, but left a subtle notice in the article about Deiland being free and Offroad Racing being free to try.

yeah, just got the news by mail that Deiland is free. Being a backer of Summer in Mara, which is a prequel to Deiland, they were kind enough to tell their backers about it.

Not giving a link to Offroad Racing since even free is too much for that shit.

Had the same thought about RROD, but labelled it RVOD specifically for PS5.

If not overheating, a gigantic form factor would be just about as bad. Like PS3 vs 360, but bigger than a mini fridge this time.

Thinking about it, maybe that's why the dev kit has that shape and so many openings for airflow. Can you imagine if the end product ends being similar (but more stylized) to the dev kit we've seen?

So the dev kit, but entirely mesh? LOL

On the other hand, being able to see all the internals that way would be kinda... cool.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Would it be cool to see the internals? Yeah. Would that make the console a dust magnet? Hell yeah!

A transparent casing like with the Gameboy would certainly be cool without that problem, though

The dusting problem. You'd still have to deal with the heat and airflow.

But we're getting carried away and this is not the place to talk about the cooking of a console, right? There are other threads for that.

Apparently, we won't have to wait until Alder Lake to see PCIe 4.0 on Intel platforms. If the latest leak from Videocardz is accurate, it could arrive with Rocket Lake S, Intel's 11th Gen Core, later this year or the next one:

Good good. It's interesting how things have changed since while Amd is giving intel a run for their money with cpus, I didn't expect Amd to also have a better platform, especially for this long. You can even get thunderbolt 3 on Amd if you have the dough.

What's more amazing is that AMD is more power efficient than Intel, at least at load. Who would have thought that could happen a mere couple years ago?

Right? Plus when you considering how forwards compatible AM4 is, it's nuts! 4 generations of CPUs on a single socket.

Call of Duty: Warzone has over 30 million players worldwide in just ten days
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/call-of-duty-warzone-has-over-30-million-players-worldwide-in-just-ten-days/
Activision has just announced that Call of Duty: Warzone has now over 30 million players worldwide. Thus, this free to play battle royale COD game has been quite successful for the company, something that shouldn’t really surprise us.
Call of Duty: Warzone came out on March 10th and had 6 million players in its first 24 hours. Then, on March 14th, Activision reported that the game surpassed its 15 million goal.

Doom Eternal roars past 100,000 concurrent users on Steam
https://www.pcgamer.com/doom-eternal-roars-past-100000-concurrent-users-on-steam/
Doom Eternal came out today—you may have heard something about that—and it's off to what can conservatively be called a pretty good start, surpassing 100,000 peak concurrent users on Steam (104,727 at the moment), and 115,000 viewers on Twitch.
That puts Doom Eternal well into the top ten games on Steam by player count, slightly ahead of Destiny 2 but still well behind Grand Theft Auto 5 and Football Manager 2020. It's also well over double the peak concurrent player mark set by Doom, which according to SteamDB notched up a little more than 44,000 players in May 2016.

The Stay Inside Bundle is $20 for $160 of games
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-stay-inside-bundle-is-dollar20-for-dollar160-of-games/
Have you missed one of the biggest roguelike crazes of the past decade? Are you stuck with a bunch of time inside for some reason? Here’s a bundle of indies totaling up to about $160 for a measly $20, or to be precise, $19.96. Put together by Binding of Isaac developer Edmund McMillen and a bunch of his friends, this is a superb bargain on some good games. There’s a lot of variety here, from platformers and roguelikes to party games for Remote Play Together. The bundle is called this because it is also a good excuse to socially distance yourself from others because there’s a scary virus, etc.

According to Videocardz, Remedy and Piranha Games will brings DLSS 2.0 to CONTROL and Mechwarrior 5, respectively. NVIDIA, Remedy and Piranha Games have not publicly commented on this, so take it with a grain of salt. At least for now.

Metro Exodus and Waifus Over Husbandos among February's top Steam games
https://www.pcgamer.com/metro-exodus-and-waifus-over-husbandos-among-februarys-top-steam-games/
At around the midpoint of every month, Valve puts out a list of the top new releases on Steam from the past month based on their first two weeks of sales. (That's why we have to wait until mid-month for the list.) Sales figures aren't provided so there's no way to say for certain which game is number one, but every month there are at least a couple of obvious entries, and a couple that come as surprises.
February is no exception. Metro Exodus, which came to Steam on February 15—a year after its original release on the Epic Games Store—made the list, which is absolutely zero surprise, as did Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, and Dota Underlords, which are all games people had been waiting for eagerly.

MODS/EMULATORS

The latest version of RPCS3 allows you to unlock the framerate of Playstation 3 games
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-latest-version-of-rpcs3-allows-you-to-unlock-the-framerate-of-playstation-3-games/
The team behind the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, has released a brand new version of it. This latest version of RPCS3 has a new feature that allows you to unlock the framerate of a Playstation 3 game.
As the team noted, Vblank will allow you to change a game’s frame rate. This option is located in the advanced tab in emulator settings. Moreover, you can dynamically change vblank and clock scale while your game is running, to achieve your desired frame rate.
However, do note that not every game works with vblank settings. As such, you might need some game specific patches to unlock the framerate.

Doom Eternal already looks amazing on the PC on Ultra Nightmare settings. Still, this Reshade Ray Tracing can improve its ambient occlusion effects. For instance, you can immediately notice the better AO on various objects. Not only that, but the overall Global Illumination effects are better than before.

First Jill Valentine Nude Mod available for download for Resident Evil 3 Remake & PC Demo
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/first-jill-valentine-nude-mod-available-for-download-for-resident-evil-3-remake-pc-demo/
Well, it was bound to happen. The first nude mod for Resident Evil 3 Remake is already available and is compatible with its public PC demo. As you may have guessed, with this mod you can have a completely naked Jill Valentine. Furthermore, this mod makes her a bit prettier by removing some dirt from her face.
Resident Evil 3 Remake officially releases on April 3rd. My guess is that this mod will work on the retail version as soon as it comes out. And even if it doesn’t work right out of the gate, the modder will undoubtedly release a new version for it.
>> You'll be able to find it at Nexus Mods (not a direct link).

Animal Crossing's Isabelle gives Doomguy high fives, shoots demons in new mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/animal-crossings-isabelle-gives-doomguy-high-fives-shoots-demons-in-new-mod/
We're all cooped up and spending time away from people to slow the spread of COVID-19, but at least videogame release date timing is on our side: Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons both came out this week, and while the latter isn't a PC game, it's impossible to ignore what a perfect balance the two strike. Doom Eternal is a ferocious, cathartic demon murder simulator, and Animal Crossing is a slow burn zen garden for manageable debts.
The internet decided that Doomguy and Animal Crossing's Isabelle were friends back when their games' release dates first aligned, but now that meme dream team has become a reality. Modder It's Me Veronica put together a mod for GZDoom that brings Isabelle into the game as a helpful companion.
>> You may already know about this mod because CaptainExplosion made a thread about this mod.

Play Half-Life levels in Dusk with Doom's music, why not
https://www.pcgamer.com/play-half-life-levels-in-dusk-with-dooms-music-why-not/
The alpha release of Dusk's SDK brought mod support to the retro shooter and, as we noted at the time, that included the ability to play Quake and Half-Life maps in Dusk. The latest update adds custom music and that is why you can, as New Blood Interactive demonstrate in the video above, play Half-Life maps with Doom's music in Dusk.
That's Anomalous Materials up there, the second level of Half-Life, with Dusk's scientist enemies—who were inspired by Half-Life's scientists, bringing them full circle.
