Eventually I also bought The GOG version of Rayman 3. After adding the Widescreen patch for R2 and installing the „Better Rayman“ mod for R3 and configurating the Nglide for R2 and adding the dinput.dll to both game folders all Rayman games now look and control very nice.

Discord is offering developers a 90/10 revenue split

Discord, which started selling games through its chat platform in August, will allow developers to self-publish games with a 90/10 revenue split from 2019. This comes not long after Epic announced that it would offer a better split than Steam, only taking 12 percent of the game’s revenue.
“We talked to a lot of developers, and many of them feel that current stores are not earning their 30% of the usual 70/30 revenue share,” reads the announcement. “Because of this, we now see developers creating their own stores and launchers to distribute their games instead of focusing on what’s really important — making great games and cultivating amazing communities.
So from 2019, Discord is turning its store into a “self-serve game publishing platform”. Any developer will be able to publish on the store and keep 90 percent of their revenue. The remaining 10 percent covers operating costs, apparently, and could be lowered.

Dark Souls developer From Software's next game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is currently top of Steam's wishlist chart, followed by the Resident Evil 2 remake and Metro Exodus in third. I didn't even know you could see which games were most wishlisted until industry event organiser Simon Carless pointed it out on Twitter today, but it might be a useful way of knowing what should be on your radar.
The list appears to rank games that have been most wishlisted recently, rather than the most wishlisted games of all time. Behind Sekiro, the Resi 2 remake and Metro Exodus is Total War: Three Kingdoms, action RPG Biomutant and The Outer Worlds, the RPG that blends Firefly and Fallout.
Rounding out the top 10 are Square Enix's shooter Left Alive (which David called "underwhelming" in his preview) Studio Wildcard's pirate MMO Atlas, The Division 2 and Tropico 6, which Phil reckons could be the definitive edition of the island builder.

Daniel Gibson has released the final version of dhewm3. In case you weren’t aware of, dhewm 3 is a Doom 3 GPL source port, known to work on at least Windows, Linux, macOS and FreeBSD, and its goal is to bring Doom 3 with the help of SDL to all suitable platforms.
Compared to the original Doom 3 game, dhewm 3 supports 64-bit systems, SDL for low-level OS support, OpenGL and input handling, OpenAL for audio output, OpenAL EFX for EAX reverb effects, better support for widescreen (and arbitrary display resolutions meaning that you can run 4K or even 8K resolutions), a portable build system based on CMake and cross-compilation with MinGW-w64.

Geneshift is a fast-paced game, a top-down GTA-inspired battle royale where the rounds only last for two minutes. Yup, that's quick, and if you're quick too you can grab the game for free. Geneshift is currently free on Steam, and if you download it in the next 48 hours, you can keep it forever.
The battle royale mode for Geneshift began as something as a joke, but since the community seemed to love the idea it grew into a full-fledged game mode. It all just happens really fast.

You can now download and play the prototype versions of the HD fan remake of Mortal Kombat

Earlier this month, we informed you about the cancellation of the fan remakes for Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3. As we wrote, the team behind this Mortal Kombat HD fan project, known back then as Mortal Kombat HD Remix, was aiming to create proper HD versions of the first three classic 2D MK fighting games. And today, we are happy to report that you can download and play the prototype versions of this fan remake.
There are currently two versions of Mortal Kombat Returns, also known as Mortal Kombat HD Remix or Mortal Kombat HD Remake. The first one was developed in GameMaker, has both Scorpion and Sub-zero battling, and features the classic character select screen. The second was developed in the Unity Engine, only features Sub-Zero, and was the most recent version of Mortal Kombat HD. And in case you were wondering, yes; you can perform fatalities in both of these prototypes.

Modder ‘DassiD’ has released a must-have mod for all those that want to replay The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. As its title suggests, Morrowind Enhanced Textures is a HD Texture Pack for this classic Elder Scrolls games that upscales the original textures by 4X with the ESRGAN technique.
In case you weren’t aware of, Enhanced super resolution generative adverserial networks, or ESRGAN, is an upscaling method that takes an low-res image and adds realistic details to it. By doing it over several passes with the goal of fooling its adverserial part, it will usually produce an image with more fidelity and realism than past methods.

The moment Fortnite Creative was revealed, it was only a matter of hours before someone recreated Counter-Strike's de_dust2. It is something of a rite of passage for any fledgling level editor, and Fortnite has passed the test.
Reddit user VariousPurple's rendition of the classic map got the greenlight from Epic, granting them a code that allows anyone to load into the level. To try it for yourself, just load up Fortnite's creative mode, head over to a featured map rift and hold the action button to change the code. Pop this number in to load "Dust II" then walk into the rift to teleport there: 1068-0274-9341.

I'm still not settled on my game of the year selection for 2018, but disappointment of the year is an easy one. I half-expected that Underworld Ascendant wouldn't live up to my expectations, since they were so unreasonably high, but I did not expect a disaster, wrapped in a train wreck, inside a 25/100 review. It was a heartbreaker by any measure.
The good news, such as it is, is that developer Otherside Entertainment isn't just taking the "L" and walking away from it. The studio posted plans for two major updates today on Steam, the first of which will hopefully go live next week.
