Why is it weird? The i7 8700K was 399€ at launch, so the extra cost of this one doesn't look out of place.

Sure, for an i9 it's cheap, but then this is supposed to be a mid range chip and won't have as many PCI lanes as their bigger brothers.

I don't get all the fuss about lanes. It has full 16 for the GPU and the rest can be done over the main board. I doubt this has much of a performance factor.

And me neither, as long as you only have one GPU.

But why did you said it was kinda weird?

Please excuse my bad English.

Because I thought it's too low. My initial estimate from when the CPU was leaked was $899. Because it's powerful and because it's Intel.

Well, as I said, it's still a mid range product and, if the price you've listed is correct, almost 150€ more than the last top of the range mainstream CPU.

And there's also the fact that while it will be a lot faster, the R7 2700X will be a lot cheaper, so Intel can't ask as much as they want.

If you have a ton of USB ports, filled PCI-E slots, a few SSD's... Those PCI-E lanes can quickly come up short.
For a single GPU the impact when all devices are being pegged shouldn't be significant...

But throw GPU compute and lots of transfers over those busses... And the PCI-E lane count can quickly become a bottleneck.
Throw in AMD's Crossfire which doesn't have a bridge anymore and it can compound the issue.

Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition mod pack promises the 'definitive' version of the horror classic
https://www.pcgamer.com/silent-hill-2-enhanced-edition-mod-pack-promises-the-definitive-version-of-the-horror-classic/
Silent Hill 2 is one of the best horror games you can play on your PC. It's also 16 years old. That means it's a little tricky to get it running, and when you do, it looks, well, like a 16-year-old videogame. Skyrim doppelganger mod lets you follow and marry yourself
https://www.pcgamer.com/skyrim-doppelganger-mod-lets-you-follow-and-marry-yourself/
Farkas, useless. J'zargo, irritating. Argis the Bulwark, weird. If you want something done, you're best doing it yourself. Or is that with yourself? PsykotikKrymes' The Doppelganger Follower lets you add yourself as a companion in Skyrim Special Edition.
Found in Riverwood's Sleeping Giant Inn, your new pal shares you likeness. They share your name, your learned shouts, and your spell arsenal. And as if that wasn't narcissistic enough, The Doppelganger Follower lets you marry yourself. Perhaps you'll treat yourself better than that cantankerous Moira.

In the same way Pulse Rifle fodder vaporises enemy Combine soldiers, the Mobility Mod makes quick work of baddies by way of head bashing.

Monster Hunter World does not properly detect the number of CPU cores, one main thread dedicated to anti-debug code
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/monster-hunter-world-not-detecting-proper-number-of-cpu-cores-one-main-thread-dedicated-to-anti-debug-code/
Modder Kaldaien has announced that he will no longer develop his Special-K mod for Monster Hunter World, stating that Capcom’s anti-debug code seriously messes things up for modders. Not only that, but the modder has discovered some pretty interesting details about how the engine handles and uses its cores, and these findings could potentially explain why the game is so CPU-heavy bound.
According to the modder, Monster Hunter World is currently unable to properly detect the number of CPU cores that PC gamers have in their systems. The game’s logic assumes that everyone has a 32-core processors and scales its threads accordingly, even though some gamers can only have CPUs with only 4 or 8 cores/threads.

Remake of Resident Evil remake 'wouldn’t be laughable', says Capcom
https://www.pcgamer.com/remake-of-resident-evil-remake-wouldnt-be-laughable-says-capcom/
Capcom plans to "explore" more remakes following Resident Evil 2, we learned earlier this month. Where exactly it'll cast its net remains to be seen—but it seems reimagining the Resident Evil remake isn't out of the question.
In conversation with Game Informer at Gamescom, director Kazunori Kadoi said he and his team are keen to get the incoming Resident Evil 2 remake out of the door first, before turning their attention to what might be next. The Resident Evil remake—launched in 2002 for the Nintendo Gamecube; remastered in HD in 2015—however, isn't beyond their purview.

>>Remakes of remakes...*shakes head* This is starting to be like the movie industry, where they remake the same movies over and over.

The fallout from European loot box rulings continued over the weekend as Blizzard announced that it is removing paid loot boxes and chests from Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm players in Belgium. The country's Gambling Commission ruled in April that the loot boxes available for purchase in Overwatch and other games contravene Belgium's gambling regulations.

Onimusha is coming to PC in early 2019
https://www.pcgamer.com/onimusha-is-coming-to-pc-in-early-2019/
Elderly PS2 game Onimusha: Warlords is coming to PC on 15 January 2019, Capcom revealed today. You can watch a trailer above.
Capcom promises high-definition graphics, a widescreen display option, support for analogue sticks (the 2001 original didn't have this, if I recall) and a new soundtrack. You can also play on easy mode from the start, whereas the original only offered the option after you'd died a bunch of times. It'll cost $20, and while the feature list there isn't particularly exciting to me, I'm sure some completionists will welcome the chance to own it on PC.

That thing in Belgium is interesting. Shouldn't every other game follow suit as well? I can only assume they'll just remove the lootboxes and replace them with nothing, thereby locking people out of content. Let's see in which direction the backlash will be sent.

New Rune: Ragnarok in-engine trailer released
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/new-rune-ragnarok-in-engine-trailer-released/
Human Head Studios has released a brand new in-engine trailer for Rune: Ragnarok. This trailer showcases the game’s visuals, showing some of the game’s enemies, NPCs and environments.
As we’ve already stated, the game feels rough around the edges. These past few trailers showcase awkward animations and the combat mechanics – at least in the previous games – felt a bit too simplistic. Not that this is a bad thing, especially for those that just want a new Rune game, but it may quickly get repetitive.
