Reddit’s ‘lLoneWandererl’ has released a brand new update for the incredible free remake of Metroid 2, Another Metroid 2 Remake. According to the release notes, this patch fixes some bugs and resolves various issues related to shaders. Moreover, lLoneWandererl – who was the project lead – has decided to step down (and most likely another user will take his place).
Going into slightly more details, patch 1.42 allows for a quick music cross-fade when entering item rooms, fixes missing pixels on Fusion suit sprite, fixes visual issue with Ramulken eye, streamlines modifiers.ini (some options have been removed and/or made permanent to unify the experience) and fixes confirmation prompt not appearing when attempting to overwrite a save.

The tech demo will be a chance for Half-Life fans to provide feedback on the team’s progress. The team says that “Ravenholm provides an obvious choice for a demonstration of our skills, taking a fan-favourite location in Half-Life 2 and re-imagining it in Unreal Engine 4, fourteen years later.”

Human Head Studios has released a brand new in-engine trailer for Rune: Ragnarok. This trailer showcases the game’s visuals, showing some of the game’s enemies, NPCs and environments.
As we’ve already stated, the game feels rough around the edges. These past few trailers showcase awkward animations and the combat mechanics – at least in the previous games – felt a bit too simplistic. Not that this is a bad thing, especially for those that just want a new Rune game, but it may quickly get repetitive.
