Wednesday news, part two:
This new World of Warcraft weapon is just a floppy fish
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-new-world-of-warcraft-weapon-is-just-a-floppy-fish/
A new expansion for World of Warcraft always means a ton of new equipment to collect, but I really wasn't expecting one of them to be a floppy fish. But, alas, a player by the name of Stan has dug out this incredible find from the Battle for Azeroth beta. It's name is the Stinkrot Smasher and it's a one-handed mace (yes, that means you can duel wield it!) that's actually just a floppy fish.
GTA Online now sells champagne and it costs more than some vehicles

GTA Online's much-anticipated After Hours update rolled out on PC today. And while I've been shackled to the PCG.com news desk this afternoon, our Samuel has been living it up as a nightclub owner. He tells me he's partied, performed fetch quests to improve his nightclub's reputation, and been killed by other players while trying to finish said fetch quests (because this is GTA Online).

After a bit of a delay—we were expecting the update to arrive at 6 am Pacific—the No Man's Sky Next update has arrived and can be downloaded on PC. While you're waiting for it to download, you can take a look at the patch notes to see what Next includes.
>>And with the update, there's also a bunch of customizable options for us.
No Man's Sky multiplayer features won't hit the GOG version until later this year

Owners of the DRM-free version of No Man's Sky, which is only available on GOG.com, will not have access to the game's new multiplayer features until later this year. That's according to a joint statement made by GOG and Hello Games on the GOG forums, where the news was released roughly three hours ago.
Wrecking Ball is now live in Overwatch, Hanzo is nerfed, and Sombra gets infinite stealth
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-update/
That big Overwatch update you may be downloading this very instant means that the hamster hero Wrecking Ball is off the PTR and rolling loose on live servers. Today's update also makes significant changes to Sombra, who can now take advantage of limitless stealth, nerfs Hanzo, and decreases weapon damage falloff for some characters, which translates into a buff for McCree.
The Occupation, an investigative race against the clock, will launch in October
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-occupation-an-investigative-race-against-the-clock-will-launch-in-october/
The Occupation begins with a terrorist attack that leaves 23 people dead and spurs the creation of The Union Act, a controversial piece of law-and-order legislation that threatens the civil liberties of the British people. You, a reporter, must investigate the crime and the legislation, and through that investigation help guide the course of the country as it navigates the trouble waters of the late 1980s. The Occupation was revealed in March 2017, and today developer White Paper Games and Humble Bundle announced it will be out on October 9.
Ace platformer Rogue Legacy gets its first update in four years
https://www.pcgamer.com/ace-platformer-rogue-legacy-gets-its-first-update-in-four-years/
Rogue Legacy is a 2D platformer in which your characters and the levels you explore are procedurally generated every run. Death is permanent, but all your characters are connected genetically like one big unlucky family. It came out in June 2013 and it was quite good, even before the update it received the following December which added a bunch of bosses and room types.
Today, over four years since that last update, developer Cellar Door Games rolled out another update for Rogue Legacy to celebrate its five-year anniversary. It seems the devs had more free time after shipping the delightful beat-'em-up Full Metal Furies this March.
Boundless, the Voxel-based action MMO, launches out of Early Access in September
https://www.pcgamer.com/boundless-the-voxel-based-action-mmo-launches-out-of-early-access-in-september/
Boundless has been kicking around for a while now, in various shapes and forms. Formerly known as Oort Online, studio Wonderstruck renamed it Boundless in 2015, at the same time as it was announced for PS4. Its been in Early Access since 2014, but now an official launch is slated for September 11.
Steel Division 2 announced, moving to the Eastern Front
https://www.pcgamer.com/steel-division-2-announced-moving-to-the-eastern-front/
Eugen Systems has announced that it will be self-publishing Steel Division 2, a sequel to its 2017 real-time strategy game Steel Division: Normandy 44. In it, we'll move over to WWII's Eastern Front with new 'Dynamic Strategic Campaigns' set during Operation Bagration, the massive Soviet offensive that pierced the German line, eventually reaching Warsaw.
Sunless Skies launches terrifying third region, delays full release to 2019
https://www.pcgamer.com/sunless-skies-launches-terrifying-third-region-delays-full-release-to-2019/
Sunless Skies' cosmos features cider, cricket, and tentacle monsters. Its stormy threats can be devastating. And its crumbling Big Ben is downright terrifying. So when developer Failbetter Games says the narrative adventure game's new Eleutheria region is "designed to give you goosebumps", I must admit: I'm shitting myself a wee bit.
No Man's Sky draws over 40,000 concurrent players on Steam with Next
https://www.pcgamer.com/no-mans-sky-draws-over-40000-concurrent-players-on-steam-with-next/
So, yesterday was weird. No Man's Sky sat atop the global top sellers list on Steam at a price of $60 while I sat there endlessly refreshing Sean Murray's Twitter, waiting for the download to begin. It was like it was 2016 again—though No Man's Sky did go on sale for 50% off and this time players could actually see each other in the game.
I wasn't the only one blasting off into the Next expansion: at its peak yesterday, No Man's Sky had 41,861 concurrent players on Steam. Naturally, that's not close to the all-time peak after the 2016 launch, which saw over 200 thousand concurrents. It's still twice as many the Atlas Rises update drew in 2017, which pulled in around 20,000 concurrents, according to Steam Charts.
Please excuse my bad English.
