Sir, the Vita is at 5m+ not fail :P |
I think Vita is one of the best pieces of hardware ever, But Sony needs to stop fooling around a pay off a couple of devs like Bethesda and Rockstar to create system sellers for it.
Atto Suggests...:
Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series
Game - Metro Last Light
TV - Deadwood
Music - Forest Swords
Sony fans have had much, much more bragging rights since 2009.
Not to mention that there are people (and I consider myself one of them) who vocally support what they consider the best product/company out there. I've had every console the last two gens, and last gen I was a Nintendo fan by a landslide. They are just better right now, so I'll voice that opinion when the opportunity presents itself.
Some people have sad empty lives and have nothing better to do than boast about their prefered platform. Especially when nobody asked.
The average consumer doesn't have much loyalty. But the internet is filled with sad, sad people. Sony does a pretty good job at attracting some of those people.

Nice Catch-22!
Personally, I find another question much more interesting:
Why did the number of claims about "the internet being flooded with Sony fans" etc. skyrocket ever since the reveal of unpopular Xbox One policies?
As long as you acknowledge this is the case. You leave the reasoning up to the rest of us
From what I see, since I browse multiple forums (while you admit not to), the main reasons in short:
- Wii has more casuals who see little reason to go on forums. Xbox gamers are more social in nature and therefore spend time with gaming but tend to balance it out with other activities (working out, friends, family, etc.). PS gamers seem to have a real gamer culture in them, in that they put gaming over any other hobby they do.
- #5......because I feel the same way about myself. It is extremely satisfying to have these debates on who's right and wrong. Not gonna lie, it sometimes brings more satisfaction then gaming itself. With PS fans that mentality is multiplied because they have comrades to validate and back up their opinions. I would imagine with them it feels very satisfying to be apart of a like-minded majority.
My first point directly feeds into the second. Its part of their (and therefore your) culture. I accepted long ago that people like me stand alone in small numbers where as the majority of my people are having a healthy balance of gaming with life, with no real need to validate themselves on the internet.
We get paid by Sony for publicity. How foolish not to notice this.
They are born and raised using only Sony technologies.
