Before people start talking about how great PS+ is and how its worth it just for the "free" games (aka game rentals) alone, lets wait and see how good PS+ is on the PS4, since the console is not BC. So far the only retail game offered for free is a neutered "PS+ Edition" of Drive Club.

It obviously won't happen immediately, but it will probably be similar to how a PS+ subscrition started receiving Vita games (I have a lot of Vita titles in my instant game collection now).

I can't stand the double-standards. People here will accept it, after Live took the heat for years over its subscription model.

I don't see many Sony fans condoning the move, and even the ones that do might have supported XBL Gold initially.

And even then, what Microsoft offered with XBL Gold on the 360 will be far different to what Sony will offer with PS+ on the PS4 (with more features and details that are yet to be announced), it's not the same situation at all.

Even with all the differences between XBL Gold on the 360 and PS+ on the PS4, I still don't condone the move, or at least how they executed it.

As far as i know none of the PS fans are happy about this. So what double standards are you talking about?

PS fans used free online mp as a pro against the 360 in its own right. That won't apply to PS4 - Xbone.

Theres also the argument of PS Plus being a ridiculously good deal...especially the free games catalogue which so far MS has not matched. At the end of the day that was a great service when it was optional but now that it is mandatory for online play, they better make it worth it.

Edit: This thread is also a good example of how wrong you are about "double standards". As you can see no one in the thread is for the paywall....this has been the general sentiment on the site among Sony fans.

radha, Carl.

Can you clarify the reference? my point is, ps+ is good, everyone should have it as it is now, right now is worth it, for those who have it there is no change. For those who dont, they are not only getting multi player, they are getting lots of "free" stuff, MS XBL gold charges for stuff like netflix, is not the same, its not the same value, hence the different reaction

What did you expect? Their entire 1st party library? The console hasn't even launched yet.

Wow Sony has the cloud too wtf, I thought it was exclusive to MS

Still 100* better than XBL

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

in reference to KH3 release date

This doesn't explain anything in my opinion. Multiplayer on PC is free, so I don't understand their justification. PS+ is great without it, so I'll continue to subscribe though.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Yes, exactly. I expected the ENTIRE first party lineup. In fact, for PS+ subscribers, should we not also get the console for free? Why not an HDTV to play it on? Might as well make it 4K. And since PS+ is now required for online play, why don't they throw in some free broadband Internet and a cool router? But geez with a TV, new console, and router, you're looking at a hefty electric bill. Maybe they can pay my electricity too? Am I doing this right?

Lol, what are you going on about? The fact of the matter is PS+ released late into the PS3's life and had a variety of games to choose from. It will take a good 2-3 years before PS+ for the PS4 can get on par with what is currently being offered for PS3, in terms of games that is.

That is exactly what I am saying. The PS+ we will get for PS4 will take awhile to become as good as it is on PS3, if it ever does. A more costly online investment could mean Sony has less money to hand out to other publishers for big games. For all we know everything retail wise on PS+ could be "PS+ Editions" next gen.
