Probably because most people would like to see Atlus games continue to get released rather than buried under the weight of Square's obsession with milking Final Fantasy dry.  Not counting handheld titles, there's been one Dragon Quest release on consoles since 2004, and that hasn't even made it over from Japan yet.  If you count Swords, then only 1 Dragon Quest game released in all regions.  Meanwhile there have been 5 console versions of Final Fantasy's released during the same time span (only one of which sold better than DS's Dragon Quest IX).  I like Atlus and their games, and I'd rather not see happen to them what happened to Enix.

After the huge Duke Nukem Why Ever disappointment, I think the whole gaming world, orphan of the Duke, really needs some BAD GENOME injected into another dev (that didn't get beyond any hope of salvation like the Duke ones) to resurrect in the proper way. Nevermind if censorship won't let Australians play such awesomeness!!!

Perhaps another parent company....ugh. It's just scary to think about anyone except for Sony. I would also just love a Sony/Nintendo partnership company.

Nintendo has the deeper pockets and more lenient in certain aspects. But frankly, I sort of wish some other non game industry group would purchase them and give them autonomy to keep producing quality games.

To be honest, i would rather someone modest like AQL or gung ho got them. Then we could keep having the games ported over. Tecmo wouldnt hurt aswell, but i doubt they are drowning in money. Nintendo is a good possibility. Sony would be ok, but i doubt they have the money.

I'm just afraid namco, squeenix or capcom buy them, because then we wont see anymore persona or SMT games out of japan.

Namco seems to have let D3 pretty much alone since acquiring them, and D3 doesn't have near the cult following that Atlus does, so I'd be optimistic they wouldn't interfere with Atlus too much.

I'll believe that if God Eater 2 for the Vita comes over.

I'm optimistic about that, too. At least, I'd like to think they just put God Eater Burst up on PS+ for a reason!
