I just found out it is so difficult for somebody in this tread to say "Congratulations to MS and XBOX360". Yes, it seems VGC overtracked 360 in UK. But come on, the milestone here is X360 will be the 2nd most popular console of all time in UK just behind the king - PS2. Doesn't it deserve one "Congratulations"?

I did and asked if it can top PS2... 1.6 million difference.

I mean the guy coming up with the first overtrack post. In his mind, to point out the overtrack is way more important than others.

Wii is over too... 8.7m in VGC... I guess PS3 too but no proof or evidence for it.

It's a bit of a hollow "victory" though to be fair. The Wii pretty much gave up 3 years ago...

I think it's a bit out of range but we will see how long MS will keep the 360 alive and what they will do with the price in next months.

According to the VGC numbers this year Europe lives in an alternate universe where console sales aren't falling and the economies of some countries arent screwed and unemployment isn't rife.

Nice to have a confirmed "win" tucked under the belt though, in a valid comparison and in a meaningful way.

I think you were one of the first to say "360 will overtake Wii in UK"... now about do you think about PS2? 1.6m difference... I think 360 sold close to 1 million last years so I guess it can do 700k this year.

700k + 400k + 200k + 100k =  9.8m

I guess it will be close but PS2 will hold the top spot.

Edit - I saw your post now lol I think 360 will sell over 9.5m in UK lifetime and it will be close to PS2.
