Forums - Gaming - The Xbox One Vs. PS4 Headset War Begins

The fact that the ps4 pad has a standard jack is a win

Ps. I've seen turtle beach headsets in shops are they any good? How does the game audio/music/effect come across as!

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

it would be good to know if the ps4 supports USB-headsets. i bought a Logitech G930 with bluetooth some years ago and didn't think about... now i have this expensive thing and only use it on my PC.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

That's barely a headset. Kind of disappointed with Sony here. At least give it a strap so it stays in the ear.
That's less than one dollar spent to tick a box.

What's the big deal about this? That PS4 headset looks like garbage anyways.

lol, 500 dolars and no headset

they have a product for people who want a headset included, it's called the XBOX 360

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I might buy the Sony pulse headset. I don't like mono headsets.

I have turtle beaches so i dont care

I don't know if you read the full post, so I'll mention it again: The Xbone has proprietary jacks, meaning that any headsets you currently have won't work with it (same way Sony has proprietary memory cards for the VITA). This means MS can charge a premium for average headsets, that'll work only with the Xbone.

LOL Just like my days owning a 360. MS always had some extra piece I had to buy.

Hmmm, maybe they'll throw their customers a bone (no pun intended), and let them use non-proprietary wireless headsets that don't require the use of a jack.

And yeah, I kept my 360 at the most basic level for that reason.

Not the same, x1 production cost not even close to the ps3, even with kinect, so yea, 500 dollars and no headset is bullshit, they just want to make profit from every unit.

well atleast kinect has a mic in it...

Do you think it will work good?

It supposed take voice commands so it has to be a strong mic...On the down side it's annoying to have the chat coming out of your TV at the same time as the game sound...

i believe kinect features some noice cancelling post-processing to remove the sound from the tv.   but, compared to a headset, you'll pick up the wife and kids and dog and whatever else is making noise in the room.   i think that was the big complaint from wii speak owners on why it wasn't a suitable replacement for an actual headset.
