Fair is fair, you still agreed.

| S.T.A.G.E. said: Sony was right about their format choice in the end, correct? The format might as well hold more space rather than sticking with old DVD's. We're getting closer and closer to a no disc format, and MS had no plans for HD-DVD except to use it as a deterent for Blu Ray this gen. Fail. |
No, Sony wasn't right. The Nintendo Wii outsold the PS3 and the 360 is dead even with it, neither of which use high capacity formats. They could have waited until this gen like Nintendo and MS did, had a much much cheaper PS3 console, launched earlier, and probably won the generation. But they wanted their Blu-Ray trojan horse, gamers be damned.
Also, link to the statements from MS saying they had no HD-DVD plans past this generation?

Bold part is a presumption. If it was accurate I'd imagine the Wii U is far more profitable than "breaking even." |
it was taking a loss at launch, if it is profitable now then it's a very small profit. Also, the bolded part isn't presumption.

Fine, Sony wasn't right, MS turned on their word and accepted Blu Ray. MS is moving up in the world.
As for HD-DVD I never said they had no plans for it, I said they used it as a deterrent but no one wants to buy an add on. It was never in their true plan for the console. They tried to take out Sonys next gen format and failed.

No loyalty free links?

It was Kaz who unveiled the price. Kutaragi just showed off the console and explained the ergonomics.
