Forums - Microsoft - Halo’s Xbox One entry is “legitimate”, Reclaimer Trilogy now a “saga”

Gaming Everything

Microsoft announced a new Halo game for the Xbox One during its E3 2013 conference last week. While it’s largely assumed to be Halo 5 – Xbox boss Don Mattrick even referred to it as such recently – Microsoft Game Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer won’t say if it’s the next core entry in the series or something in the style of Halo 3: ODST or Halo: Reach.

“It is the next Halo game that we are working on. We will talk more about actually the story arc in the game and how it plays out; we’ve got more time to talk about that.”

“But having [producer Bonnie Ross] come out and announce the game, making sure people know it’s a legitimate version of Halo coming out, and when it’s coming out, and features that they’re focused on we thought was…important.”

A couple of years ago, Halo 4 was announced as the beginning of “The Reclaimer Trilogy”. Halo 5 and Halo 6 would be a part of this series. Microsoft now says that the trilogy has become a saga “so we don’t want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.”

“While we originally said trilogy, we’ve actually expanded this to more of a saga, so we don’t want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.”

I was so pissed off when I read this a few hours ago. All I could think about was leche and dairy in general. Too much too soon.

Sounds good to me. More games in the Reclaimer saga means more lore development and more sales :P

I am uneasy about the trailer.......Chief is clearly in hiding, hence the covering. His armor is cracked as well, implying he hasn't been to a UNSC base in some time.

I hope he didn't go AWOL because he had a mental breakdown over cortana dying.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If he doesn't get cortana back from the dead then...

This is actually good. I don't want them to release Halo 5 just 2 years after Halo 4. I think they need to wait at least 3 - 4 years before releasing it.

Yeah I fully agree. For the 10hours ODST gave me of pure epic campaign it really deserved to be called a Halo game. The coziness, the epicness, the darkness, the humanity, the squad and Nathan Fillion's voice acting  was just simply awesome!

Dat milking of a dead franchise! :D

Wait, I thought Halo 3 OSDT was just the same thing as Halo 3? Since I've played Halo 3, is there a point in playing Halo 3 OSDT??

Good side story. You don't play as Chief. I'd get it. Some don't like it - some do. I say get it and see for yourself. At least read a review or two or watch a walkthrough before buying.
