You have a point there. Frankly, I was surprised that the Wii U didn't even get something like KH3. I guess at this point said developers think people buy ninty platforms to play ninty games and won't even consider theirs. I mean, I do think games like "The last Story" and "Xenoblade" would have done much better on ps3 than the Wii this gen despite the Wii's higher install base. For comparison: take a look at Tales of Graces Wii sales vs essentially the same game: Tales of Graces F on ps3. Despite the Wii 's much higher install base especially in Japan, the ps3 version sold twice as much.

You make a very good point.

Any pioneer looking to follow this uncharted market approach would need to look for long-term gain, and see some lesser sales on the short term.

Take for example Xenoblade. I can bet that X will garner more and more sales as the series improves and progresses on Nintendo consoles, to establish itself as a robust Nintendo IP when it comes to sales.

This strategy would require constant exclusivity and commitment to quality.

Unfortunately, most publishers need money now, nintendo included. If Ninty themselves moneyhat some of these projects with the Wii/DS money, it would be a worthwile endeavor for developers like bayo 2. Will ninty themselves continue to do this? If they do, it would prove to other publishers that it is worthwile to try and if they don't, they'd essentially confirm to everyone, that nintendo systems are for traditional ninty games  period.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

True, the way is paved on the HD twin market, but the potential money to make on Nintendo's market is greater, and the games required to take advantage of that need not be high budget, which is the beauty of the strategy.
