Why do people think the PS3 sucks? I have a better question... Why did you start this thread?
I don't think either, the 360 or the PS3, suck. But since i'm a PC gamer i see them as a money sink. The Wii just happens to offer something I can't get on my PC. I can't get any motion sensors for my comp, meanwhile I can get the ZOMFG MIND ALTERING GFX that the PS3 and 360 offer, and better at that (Crysis). PC also has much better control scheme when it comes to hardcore games. For instance, Bioshock was amazing on both PC and 360,but the whole plasmid/weapon switching was so much more awkward on the 360 than on the PC that I found that it took away from the fun.
I DO hate 360 and PS3 mainly because they make PC games suck (UT3 for PC might as well have been the PS3 version with a PS3 emulator on the comp). I also have yet to find ANY real time strategy games on a console worth their salt.
That being said, the Wii offers something different than the other two do. That doesn't mean that the other consoles suck, it just means that the Wii is the way to go.

His point is that Sony is deliberately misleading customers by not explaining what the difference between the two SKUs is.
Also, saying, "I really don't like you," is really immature since you are only saying that because he disagrees with you.
And with the Wii argument...it really is only $200, $50 is for Wii Sports. Plus, it doesn't matter that the Wii costs $50 dollars more at retail than it does to make since people think it is worth the investment, and its price is not beyond the reach of the average consumer.
Your argument that it uses old technology is irrelevant. With the exception of the SNES, the winner of every generation has been the one with the worst technology.
Also, PS3 doesn't have more features than other consoles that actually matter. The purpose of a game system is to play games, and the PS3 has less good games than the other two. Though you may value Blu-ray, the general public currently doesn't.

As for this thread, the PS3 doesn't suck as a gaming machine. It only sucks because of its insane launch price and the speech about getting a second job and working harder is a slap to every consumer's face.

It wouldnt be very "next gen" without HD support, and Sony needed to push their format
Said launch price was well-worth it, people are just too dumb to look into it
The actual physical size was smaller than the 360 + Brick
PS2 had a new processor as well, it's Sony's style
360 has quite a few SKU's as well (Arcade, Core, Premium, Elite, Premium w/ HDMI)

I don't think anybody outside the us, thinks the PS3 is bad, except for other platform fanboys, of course, but that's part of the game.
In the US there is also a strong patriotic and protectionist movement, which attacks competition to the domestic products (Wii is not in the same category as the x360)
The situation in the us will gradually change, but it takes time.
Be happy with the product that you bought!

It's a shame, really. "The Boss" should do something radical about this Americanization, but it seems hardly feasible, so my days here are numbered.

Sky you could say the samething about your wii except the motion gaming which the PS3 has unlike your PC which you probably paid a grip for if it has all the PS3 has!
It is a system that was geared to last and when devs. finaly reach thier potential like on MGS4 and Resistence 2 and hopefully Killzone 2. then its Bluray movies in 1080p wont be its best feature. And as gaming rigs go I paid $250.00 for inovative gameplay only on the Wii! Graphics suck compared to the other consoles not even close its like a glorified PS2 which sells for around $130.00 and can play movies too! The Wii cant. So dont stress cost and value for gaming because wii isnt giving it to you oh 40 hrs of super mario galaxy chasing stars is worth every minute of it so pulse pounding I crapped myself!
PS3 low end is $400 xbox elite is still around $450 without a hd dvd movie player true you can download hd movies and watch them in newer 360 models with hdmi out. dont get me wrong my 360 gets way more ues! But the PS3 is a tramendous value when you consider all thats in it.
Blu ray movies and storage about 48 gigs 1080p output most games dont support! WHy? still large hd that can be upgraded and the equivalent of 2 6800 ultra video cards upto 7.1 surround sound.
A much better online strategy then nintendos except all the 8 bit crap I've been dying to squint at! well sony's 16 bit crap isnt much better and some of that 64 bit is almost bearable.
I would say lack of quality games exclusives that is all they need and time! parents can talk thier 10-12 year olds into a wii and save money what would you do!
People play wii and have fun in groups but the PS3 makes thier jaw drop and shear visuals Gran tarismo hd need I say more.
