Forums - General - How does George W. Bush sleep at night?

The fact that there is anyone left on this planet that would still defend Bush and his Republican party scares the ever living crap out of me.

@Madskillz - You are gonna blame katrina on Bush??? I belive fault belongs to the local government. Bush gave the go ahead to get all resources to Katrina as fast as possible. The slowdown was because of the City and State. It was all the Beauracracy that slowed it down. You notice when the State and City wasnt involved we were able to get aid to the Tsunami victims fast.

You Blame the Reccesion on Bush 2. You hold not blame on our congress? Who is the one trying to get the stimulus package passed to help out the economy. Bush is and the Senate is slowing it down.

Dang, dude ... you call me on Bush bashing - why not others? Fine ... you can be blinded by his crap, but it's not a stretch for you, since you see Sony in the same light. I bet you are a GOP fan to your heart - I can see it in your posts.

OT - he is the worst president ever. Not even Jimmy Carter, which the world loved and got run out by the Gipper, who was a tool as well. I was old enough to remember how bad things were at the pump under Carter, but I can also remember how Ronnie was backing the Iran/Contra deals (with Ollie North) - and I knew then as a teen he had a hand at sabotaging the Iranian hostage rescue.

Oh, Congress is to blame on some things, but when the GOP solidifies and blocks Dems from doing things like withdrawing the troops and calling them out for not supporting the troops ... cool. The public is gonna have their say at the polls. Just watch the Dem wave sweep across the land. And you will just have to watch Bill O'Really and Fixed NOISE and cry like a baby for 4 years.

Bottom line - Bush sucks. His brother handed him the election in 2000 - and had to call on his dog Osama bin Laden to win the second term. And what has he done? Run us into a deficit that our grandkids will be paying for. He was a horrible governor in Texas - he was a war dodger and druggie ... and can't even control his family. And folks think he'd run the country properly? Thanks, Smurf PDF for an awesome laugh tonight.

I'll sleep so good knowing this election, a Bush won't be in the White House ...

Bush is a simpleton who proves even a jackass can lead the United States ...

I would impeach him for the lie of WMDs alone ...  not to mention the attorney general scandal, the Scooter Libby crap, the yellowcake debacle and of course, Katrina. Don't blame him? I just have one quote to leave for your rose-colored glasses ...

"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job ..."

Since when does local government take charge of federal efforts? Bush has the authority to send aid halfway around the world and can't get aid down to victims in New Orleans in less than a week? Please, cry me a river.

I love knowing that the world hates Bush for things that Washington is in control over, such as legislation. All Bush has is veto, not the creation/passing of whatever policies that affect the US.

But you know, theres got to be one person to put all the blame on to make all of us feel better.

Um, yeah, that's pretty much the definition of a head of state.

If he can't take the responsibility, maybe he shouldn't have signed up for the job.

War is a business

When the US slips into recession, the US goes to war, and the US weapons industry stimulates the economy

The US weapons industry is a massive money spinner, stimulate/start wars and watch the wheels of industry kick up a gear, great for injecting the economy with much needed cash

The US is addicted to war and the benifits it derives from it

Saying this very bluntly the US derives much of it's stability on the burnt bones of others, and the routine deaths of it's own soldiers

The historians rank him just under Clinton, so hes not the worst president ever. He is mediocre, I admit. But definetely not the worst.

If you think that it will be a democratic sweep this time around, think again. It will be pretty close just like most elections. Especially if its Clinton vs McCain. Then the GOP might even have a pretty good chance at winning.

Bottom line - Bush sucks. His brother handed him the election in 2000 - and had to call on his dog Osama bin Laden to win the second term. And what has he done? If you think that he lost in 2000 because of rigging, get over yourself. And your comment on Osama is just ignorant and ruins your entire credibility. We were already heading for a recession for a decade, and following 9/11, we were even more doomed to it.

Many people believed in the WMD's. Even the UN did so dont just blame it on him when it ws the CIA with bad information. And although he mistakes in Katrina and more, it doesnt qualify him for the bashing he gets. He hasnt done a great, or even a good job. But he has not done a terrible job either.

Yeah, damn Republican party.... why'd they have to free the slaves... damn Lincoln, should've never signed that stupid emancipation proclamation.  Oh well, it's all good.... the Democrats fixed that by ensuring that 90% of future African-Americans will blindly follow and vote for their party while the very people they vote for continue to hold them back or use them as "victims" for their own race-baiting tactics, like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Im lookin more and more forward to President Hitlary every day... for only she (he? it??) can bring an end to all this lying and corruption by the eeeeeeeeevil BushCheneyMcHaliburton Administration.... oh snap, my sarcasm meter just exploded!

@ Bursche

Sorry, but all you have to do is look at the turnouts at primaries to see the Dems are setting record numbers at the polls. Please, don't listen to Fixed NOISE and Bill O'Really. He still doesn't believe there are homeless vets under bridges!

And ... name 5 things that Bush will have for a legacy ... you can take your time on that ...

Unfortunately, the Republicans that did all that aren't the same ones that are trying to ax Social Security, keep the war going in Iraq and hate the idea of universal healthcare.

Even Hispanics are defecting to the Dems ...

Blacks would vote for the GOP if they showed them some love and respect. Why did every major GOP hopeful bypass the NAACP debate? They don't take blacks seriously - look at Katrina - and they won't side with the GOP until they treat them with respect.

I do watch Fox and Bill O'Reilly but I enjoy CNN and AC360 much more. I even like Hillary Clinton and would support her over Romney. Looks like you analysis of me was wrong.

Bottom line - Bush sucks. His brother handed him the election in 2000 - and had to call on his dog Osama bin Laden to win the second term. And what has he done? Oh yah I am sure Osmam and Bush are real good friends. This is now bashing to its lowes degree where you decide to no longer use facts and make up your own. Your welcome, your a hoot 2.

I'll sleep so good knowing this election, a Bush won't be in the White House ..."BASH"

I just have one quote to leave for your rose-colored glasses ... Even you beloved Hillary thought there was reason to suspect WMD. After the 1st Gulf War we found contents that could lead up to buiding WMD, there was good reason to suspect there might be some. We now know there wanst any and if we oculd go back and time and fix it we would but there is no reason to cry over spilt milk, we need to just clean it up.

"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job ..."

Since when does local government take charge of federal efforts? Bush has the authority to send aid halfway around the world and can't get aid down to victims in New Orleans in less than a week? Please, cry me a river. Bush gave the go ahead but they coudlnt move till they were allowed by state and local officials. State and Local Governments always deal with natural disasters 1st. Mudslides, Forrest fires, and floods are normaly handled by the state untill the States asks for Federal Help. The Federal government aids the States leaving them mainly incharge still.

This hate of Bush does nothing but divide the country.

He is not even close to the worst President ever. I would not say he is worst than Andrew Johnson, or Warren G Harding. Heck JFK led us into the vietnam war, and the bay of pigs.

I have to go to bed, but the Katrina situation was FUBAR from the start. And anyone with limited knowledge of the law would have put New Orleans under martial law and bypassed the local governments. Even the mayor was calling for help. The definition ...

Martial law is the system of rules that takes effect when the military takes control of the normal administration of justice.

Usually martial law reduces some of the personal rights ordinarily granted to the citizen, limits the length of the trial processes, and prescribes more severe penalties than ordinary law. In many states martial law prescribes the death penalty for certain crimes, even if ordinary law does not contain that crime or punishment in its system.

Here's another definition ...

Martial law is government by military authorities when the normal machinery of civilian administration has broken down as a result of disaster, invasion, civil war, or large-scale insurrection. It is not to be confused with military law. Any trial of civilians held by military authorities under martial law would not enjoy the status of a court martial.

Bush could have traveled there the day after and had help in place before the storm hit. Look at the response in New York and D.C. after 9/11 - look at the response of the fires in Cali. He proved how much he cared by coming a week later and saying 'Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job' when folks - U.S. citizens - were dying.

I thank the Lord daily Bush will be gone soon ...
