I think the limited supply won't let that happen
so your prediction is this, MS outsell sony in markets were MS usually sell more because of titan Fall even though titan fall comes out around 5 months after launch?

Titanfall isn't a launch title.
Titanfall is also coming to 360 and PC.

Not sure, at the end of the day it's still an fps which is a dime in the dozen. Don't get me wrong though, it looks really good. It would have to compete with cod ghost and bf which are huge established franchises. To say titanfall, an unproven franchise as a system sell is a bit iffy before it even comes out. Its even on mutiple platforms. Not everyone who plays titanfall will get a one. |
That's true. I just think with both EA and Microsoft behind it, the advertising will be huge. EA is trying hard to get the CoD audience and now they can put "Made by the original CoD guys" in their ads. Microsoft will make sure to highlight the benefits of the Xbox One version. Also, I don't know when this game exactly releases, but if it does in the second quarter of 2014, there won't be too many other FPS around.
bizarre-galaxy.de - My Browsergame, but sadly only in german :(
You can play as an octopus, though!

oh damn, that completely slipped my mind that this was a game by ea xD It comes out spring of 2014, so ya it could do rather well with advertising. If the demo is anything to go by. This game will be excellent and will move consoles. I'm not sure if it will do anything for holiday 2013 though.

Am I missing something? Titanfall neither a huge highlight for the console nor does it really look that great. M$ does have other fish in the sea for their new console that would be way more likely to be system sellers for it. Not saying Titanfall won't be popular, but I seriously doubt it'll be a system seller. Plus there's also the facts that 1) PS4 is cheaper as well as more powerful 2) PS4 is already destroying XBone in the preorder category, due to the fact that M$ is only pushing a handful of units at launch and 3) Titanfall will probably end up on PS4 eventually, seeing as it's published by EA. Same story with Dead Rising 3, really...
EDIT: I just watched Titanfall's gameplay from the M$ press conference, and the game looks completely generic. Not bad, but the graphics look like they could run on PS3, other FPS titles like Killzone SF already have Jetpacks, mechs, and parkour, and KIllzone SF looks way better, despite running on an older PS4 devkit that uses less than half the RAM. The game might look a little better at release, but future PS4 titles are going to annihilate it.
- higher price $500 versus $400 (in last gen it was $400 versus $600 for a while, and later on $350 versus $400).
- no advantage from launching 1 year earlier like in last gen
- Xbox brand doesn't get the massive love, support and free advertizing as Sony.
- people will remain suspicious towards MS for the DRM debacle
- the public's perception of Xbone as a family friendly multimedia device rather than pure gamers console
This all will hurt the Xbone sales. It's gonna be PS4 vs Xbone 2:1 in sales.

Well, how differently?
Supply constraints on both platforms are going to determine who has the better launch.
All things being equal (hypothetical situation: they both ship 15 million units), it will probably boil down to price.
$100 makes a difference to anyone not emotionally invested in the exclusives either platform has to offer. It's safe to say not too many people will be paying $100 more specifically for Kinect.
