now go play Zero Escape : Virtue's Last Reward, its brilliant, and mind blowing.

I'm sorry, but 999 was much mindblowing. I didn't like (not as much as the previous, I mean. The conclusion was incredible as always) the conclusion in Zero Escape.

I had to keep reminding myself that I'm playing a game and not a movie.

Best game of the gen closely followed by uncharted 2 and 3. Feel sorry for those that try to down play it.

i am saying that because I JUST finished it like the OP

Does it need a sequel though? I feel the game doesn't need a sequel, since all is revealed so the sequel will be uninteresting.

I really enjoyed the game from beginning to end. Given Naughty Dog's history I came in expecting great cinematic presentation and dialogue (which they achieved), but what I didn't expect was the gameplay to be so amazing. I played the game on hard for my first playthrough, and from the limited ammo and supplies, to the way the enemies fought during combat (e.g., shooting at you immediately once you pop out of cover, approaching when you run out of ammo, etc.), Naughty Dog really nailed the survival and spontaneity aspects of gameplay.

However, what has impressed me the most is the tiny details in the game. From Joel visually covering Ellie while in cover, to the way you reel back when shot (or the way enemies slump in accordance to how the bullets hit them), to the various dialogue from both the main characters and enemies during combat, those details, while incredibly small, showed that Naughty Dog really tried to capture as much of the emotion and realism of the world even into the combat.

pretty much this. the details and gameplay are just amazing. i loved the characters, joel and ellie are simply amazing. there were tons of moments were i would just jump back in shock at what happened. and omg that level at winter, was that INTENSE!! it was literally 2 hours of me on the edge of my seat, how they switched the gameplay between ellie and joel. OMG was that INTENSE!

I finished the game two days ago, it was an amazing experience, I agree with Adam Sessler, the game wasn't neccessarily "fun" but it was an experience, an experience that no other form of media could give one besides a video game, and with that said The Last Of Us transcends any other video game I have ever played, it was an experience I didn't want to end, it was a magical experience and it just might be the best game ever created. Never before have I cared for fictional characters as much as Joel and Ellie. I honestly can't see GTA V or Watchdogs being better than this game..

Do you understand that Zero Escape is a sequel to 999?

Ya, it was an amazing game.

One of my favourite scenes is this one:

I might be about halfway through. I made it to part where Joel falls down the elevator shaft at the hotel. The stuff that followed was not exactly "scary", but it was so tense that I had to give it a rest for a bit. It's a pretty fantastic game, no doubt!

This is the first time I've ever seen you cover up your shaft.
