BenV can you comment on the preorders though? Like hows the numbers looking for Xbone and PS4?

Sony is going to have quite the holiday.

MS will be successful as well........if supply allows.

Interesting...

The reason why it isn't really good news is because now the PS4 has a great chance to gain an upper hand in the US, which is the XBox' strongest territory.

The more people get a PS4 the more likely their friends will as well, especially if XBones are not available.

You would always rather have supply than not have supply.

Maybe. But the flip side of the coin is if the item is hard to find it will have a very high demand for it, thus eBay prices sore and it becomes the hottest item to find come Christmas season. Look at the Wii sellouts at launch, not the Wii U mind you.

It's just that simple.

I don't understand why everyone is surprised about this? I went to my local GameStop 2 hours after MS had their E3 conference and the preorders were already sold out for it. I had to go to 3 different ones before I could grab one. They said they were allotted a certain amount for preorders and they had sold them already. They did say when they get more allotted then they would take more preorders but it sounds to me like its a supply issue. Pre-orders aren't going to be infinite.

If microsoft is having production issues again then I will not be buying an x1 anywhere close to launch... I will have to wait i suppose...

If you don't pre-order soon you will have to wait it seems.

Meh, only if i want it day 1, and honestly even then there are lots of ways to get a console day 1 without preorder.  I have learned my lesson about buying consoles day 1, did that with 360, ps3, and wii u.  Regretted it each time.  Games are never there at launch, and you are always more likely to be punished for your early purchase with faulty hardware.

I will wait at least a month or two before i buy the ps4 and x1, but if x1 is having rrod type of issues, then it will be a longer wait.

Because Gamestop is the largest, if not second largest behind Wal-Mart in the US for video game sales? Granted I'll never buy anything again from Gamestop after the Injustice fiasco (IE having the item in my cart and never able to check out because their servers kept crashing, and getting customer-noservice from multiple techs) but this is pretty big news TBH.

I've ordered ALL of my games off Amazon in the last 18 months, and I know they will come through with pre-orders so I'm not worried.

It's just more negative fuel for the fire for MS to a lot of people, but to me It's great news. It means the XB1 has a very high chance of being the highest sought after Christmas gift.

Prices might be high come eBay time, but for MS that means nothing. It won't drive additional software sales.

You would rather customers buy your console from a retailer rather than from a scalper.

Well from multiple clarifications the eSRam issues are production, not over heating. If Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Killer Insctinct and Forza 4 do not appeal to you to rush out and spend $500+ game costs? Then I don't blame you one bit.
