Forums - Microsoft Discussion - GameStop pulling Xbox One from their system due to supply issue?

Could this also have something to do with the supplies? http://www.vg247.com/2013/06/14/microsoft-opening-stores-inside-600-best-buy-outlets-to-promote-xbox-one/

It does seem rather strange it's only Gamestop that are affcted at the moment doesn't it, rather suggestive almost.

Can anyone else confirm this?

First of all, as far as I'm aware from being on this site for several years and following Gamestop related items closely, BenV is only a store manager level or possibly regional level over stores in an area/city (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Ben, but I really see no reason why you'd have to have any hint of secrecy to it or "no comment" type responses. that just fuels unnecessary worry). My contacts of that same level are all saying the same things: "Supply related. Preorders sold out and MS hasn't authorized anymore yet, while Sony has allowed us to increase our total."

I'm guessing a big part of it could be that MS is targeting an Xbox One release of one to almost 2 months before PS4. All the retailers I've seen are "predicting" the PS4 release closer to the end of the year/Christmas time frame where as the Xbox One is looking at early November. An extra month's worth of production this early on could easily make a difference between only 10 per store and 30+. All my local stores were maxed out at 10 Xbox One's per store and 20-30 PS4's.

I remember when the Wii and PS3 came out our area had similar limits. Wii had 20 and PS3 had 15 per store in my area.

Going by the last few posts and this one, supply seems to be the issue. November will be interesting. Some Sony fans should at least pretend not to be happy at the news, it effects consumers too! The casualties of war!

I'm also glad I pre-ordered mine more than a month ago, May 13!

You're suggesting a preference here? It could be a possibility, though they would have had the BestBuy stores in their plans already and had stock separate for both surely?!?!

I honestly just think it is just the Day One SKU being removed and will eventually get replaced with the regular console SKU.

If it was a production thing the system would be pulled online as well.

My closest GameStop ran out of preorders the same day as the E3 conference. They had 200 slots available. The one a town over ran out the day after (I called both...amazingly they too said 200 slots)

Well, well , well.

I wonder if we'll ever truly find out what happened in these past 24 hours.
