Forums - Microsoft - Confidential Xbox One F.A.Q.

(Was this already posted here?)

As reported on Kotaku, a confidential Xbox One "F.A.Q." with 100 questions and answers has been leaked on pastebin.

Be aware that It's not clear if it's fake or not - when asked for clarification, Microsoft declined to comment.

Didn't learn too much outside of
- The external hard drives will have to be USB 3.0
- New Platinum Hits lineup coming out in September for the 360.

It's just that simple.

Fake. Just glancing at the start of it there's a bunch of false info, like friends list expanded to 1000. We already know it's more than that. Also it states they showed their full games lineup at E3, which we also know to be false, because Phil Spencer already stated that they were saving some for Gamescom.

Plus it's written pretty badly

i won't be going to paste bin. anything more exciting then what was in the kotaku article? if not then really who cares if it is legit or not..

Seems pretty legit to me. All questions seemed to be as I expected with the exception of

1000 live friends as the E3 presentation hinted at no limitation (though there has to be one at some point).
and
Q: Will you offer a free trial of Xbox Live Gold when I purchase an Xbox One console?
A: A one-month Xbox Live Gold membership is included for free with every Xbox One purchase.

as I thought it was said Xbone would come with free first year.

That's only the "Day One" limited bundle.

Said where? I can't find an official statement.

Couldn've sworn I read it multiple times in forums (here and gaf)... definitely don't recall it being in the E3 prestation.

Personally I've always only heard about 1000 friends, but the FAQ admits there have been contradictory reports. From what I read in the answer, the limit will initially be 1000 and might later be increased, maybe that's the source of the confusion.

"We are excited to share we’re expanding the friends list to 1,000 friends, similar to many popular services, and we’ll continue to explore further as our customers’ needs increase."

When it comes to XBL Gold - maybe that depends on the country? Over here for example, people only get a 14 day Gold membership, according to Amazon.

The comments are funny. Some guy states MS is going to use the Kinect to count how many people are playing a game and charge every one of them a fee...

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Obviously a reference to the patent the Xbox division filed late last year, about charging by the number of  people. But if I remember correctly, that patent is only for watching movies etc., not games.
