Forums - Nintendo - Call of Duty: Ghosts might not hit Wii U after all

This "Herp, we at Activison don't know if it's coming to *insert Nintendo console here*!" thing is becoming as stale as the time when there was constantly a new iPhone just laying on a table at StarBucks. How stale can you get?

If it's coming, why not just announce it? What is the mystery here? The only logical assumption is what Aielyn said. They probably started development but are not sure if they will release the game or not, so they would rather not announce just to cancel it further down the road, only to get more shit from Nintendo fans, like if they would not announce it and silently end the development.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I´d say it is actually coming.
Interenting that the game website only lists if for MS and Sony consoles. It does seems that they´re making some implementations on the game for later WiiU release, or they´ll wait to launch it in the same time of PS4 and X1 versions

Well, called it. Was expecting a retraction/clarification once it had made its way around. And it's what I said: they're not announcing it because they don't know if they're going to release it yet.

This guy should have known better. I certainly hope they try to keep him out of range of mikes in the future.

Third parties usually have no problem saying "lol no," when it comes to putting games on Nintendo consoles. His language would be totally different if he just meant "No Wii U"

It would be far too late in the pipeline to be able to choose, i think. Even the sloppiest port possible, a final decision would have had to have been made in April or May

Geez why is it so hard for them to announce a wii u version or not. The xbox one/ps4 was announced , they auto added that in. The wii U seems like its an after thought to some.

Not necessarily. Remember that Crisis 3 and Rayman Legends were both running and pretty much ready to ship before they were cancelled/delayed. They could very well be done with the game, and just not sure if they want to actually ship it.

Cancelled, possibly, but i think that would be dumb on Activision's part. Ghosts on Wii U is at least guaranteed to do a little better than Blops II, and since they've already done engine porting work, it would be silly not to pull the trigger if they've already done the work. It would, at least, pay for itself and probably bring in some money on the side

With Rayman, it was an issue of Microsoft's demands against late ports. With Crysis, it's EA being EA. Both issues are not at play here.

Perhaps. At the same time, I don't know what up-front costs are involved in bringing this sort of product to market. Production, packaging, and shipping, obviously, but there may be other factors. And really, if they can expect their game to bring in something like 20 million units between Sony and Microsoft systems, is it really worth their time to release it on a platform that will probably show them about one-hundredth of that?

As far as Rayman goes, I thought that was rumored/debunked?
