Forums - Gaming - Do you still play your old games? How much replay value can a game have?

I replay old games from time to time.

Sometimes I give em away. I REALLY want to get another copy of Xenoblade sometime down the line just to give it to my local library.

I actually made a new method to follow before buying a game for this gen to make sure I get value for my money.

The method is: price of game / 1.5 = How much expected gameplay.

For example, a 3DS or Vita game normally costs $40. So $40 / 1.5 = 26 or roughly 25 hours of gameplay. A home system game costs $60 / 1.5 = 40 hours.

If a game doesn't have that much value in it, I'll wait for a price cut, deal, or just won't buy it.

With how much today's games cost, I want extra modes, online play, or a longer story mode. I don't want to pay more money than before just for nicer visuals.

I still play the halo games alot, rage, dead island, tomb raider, far cry 3, left 4 dead, f.e.a.r, fallout, bioshock. heaps of reply.

Nope, once I've beat the game, then i'm done. on to the next adventure. lol

Lots! Most often the original arcade Mario Bros (Wii VC), Demon Crush, Pac-man, Frogger or Galaga.
Occasionally Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, or Dewy's Adventure
Played Baldur's Gate a few times and would again if I had the time

Played Unreal Tournament endlessly for years on PC too.

The Older Ratchet and Clank games have a lot of replay value. Unlike the newer ones though.

Yes! This is the prime example of what gaming is all about. Running into those games that you will continue to play over and over again. Those are the true gems.

I play old games a lot more then new games. I have tired myself out of a lot of them though. Multiple playthroughs on dozens of games, some of them similar to each other really tires you out of them.

I'm about to play Dune 2000 now!

I Play alot of PS1 games, Diablo 1, Medievil, Nightmare creatures 1 and 2, Descent 1, the old Crash Bandicoots, Doom 1/2/Ultimate Doom, etc. I find alot of old games have good replay value and they are much easier to just pick up and play.
