I actually made a new method to follow before buying a game for this gen to make sure I get value for my money.
The method is: price of game / 1.5 = How much expected gameplay.
For example, a 3DS or Vita game normally costs $40. So $40 / 1.5 = 26 or roughly 25 hours of gameplay. A home system game costs $60 / 1.5 = 40 hours.
If a game doesn't have that much value in it, I'll wait for a price cut, deal, or just won't buy it.
With how much today's games cost, I want extra modes, online play, or a longer story mode. I don't want to pay more money than before just for nicer visuals.
