Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta 2

I've been reading a lot of articles on N4G about Bayonetta 2 and also the comment sections, there seems to be a mixed response to the game one article saying it been a WiiU exclusive will kill the series, then arguments in the comments sections saying the game will flop and eventually end up on other platforms, I'm not sure if that's possible as the big N funded and are publishing the game. Will this game sell systems or are we looking at or below Madworld type sales? I'm picking it up as I've always liked the hack'n'slash genre, also 101 will this game sell similar to Madworld

I reckon it'll do decently, its got a lot of attention in the media and by the time its released the install base will be a lot bigger. If Nintendo advertises it, it could sell well.
However I don't think 101 will do as well but I hope it does!

I guess they rather let the IP die than letting Nintendo save it... :/

Dont think I will get Wonderful 101 straight away not through not wanting the game just I will only be getting three more games the rest of this year, which will be Pikmin3, Windwaker then maybe Mario 3D land, well that or Sonic Lost Worlds, wish I could support all these games though.

N4G is Sonyfanboy-ville !

Every single person who is mad at Nintendo is not a true Bayonetta fan. The game was cancelled during SEGA´s huge restructuring in 2011/12 and if Nintendo wouldn´t have swooped in, the franchise would have ben dead after the first installment. People that can´t get over the fact that Bayo 2 is Nintendo exclusive and go on crusades are hatefilled fanboys who are only interested in petty list wars and proving their prefered platforms superiority (and some of those are on this forum too ).

I will get both Platinum games day one !

Bayonetta 2 will be very, very interesting to watch. This is a type of game that many Nintendo gamers end up ignoring, usually. With that in mind, it's hard to think it will do as well on the Wii U as it would on a Playstation console. However, Nintendo gamers might flock to it because of its nature as a Nintendo-published exclusive.

I think much of the industry will be watching Bayonetta 2, as well. This will be a true litmus test of how well a game aimed at the core, with more of an adult theme, can perform on the Wii U. This might be a defining moment for the Nintendo's core initiative, one way or another, with regards to third-party content.

On a personal note, I'll also be interested in seeing how the Nintendo crowd who have been very vocal about how much they hate games aimed at adults end up reacting to Bayonetta 2. This is the same group who seemingly hate that the graphical ability of consoles improves each generation, as well. Anyone else expecting hypocrites to spring forth in vast numbers?

As far as the numbers Bayonetta 2 generates, I don't think they'll be especially good, though I think Nintendo went in knowing that. Bayonetta 2 isn't just there to create a profit off software sales, it's there to lure a new demographic to the Wii U. That was Nintendo's plan, anyway. Not sure if it will pan out, though that's something we can't judge for awhile yet.

N4G. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
