I dont care what ppl say. Yes, I may check out a review and may buy the game, but ultimately my opinion is the only one that matters to me.

Ill tell you what game is "good to me" and what game "sucks ass" and im as hardcore as it gets.

Where did I say every game? I said you have to appreciate good games, or atleast games that try to do something different.

Otherise you arn't a hardcore gamer. You are just hardcore about playing some games.

Just how someone who only goes to action movies but goes to the theatre to see action movies 3-4 times a week wouldn't be a hardcore action movie fan... and not a hardcore movie fan.

As for me... Leader? Follower?  I'm neither. 

I think some stupidshit who loves only Capcom fighting games are just as hardcore as the next guy who "appreciates every game" aka the tool.

Still if he can't tell a good RPG vs a poor RPG he certianly don't know shit about RPGs, and really ain't that knowledgable on games as a whole.   People who can't recognize what is new, and what is different and what is good outside of what they like don't really have the kind of knowledge to credibly talk about shit outside of their narrow section of that hobby.  Therefore can't really be seen as an enthusiast for the entire hobby.

Just the sections they like.

Well FF12 did suck. It didn't do anything revolutionary or add anything new to gaming or even try anything new and was inferior compared to other FF games. It's storyline was also just ripped off from Star Wars and Ogre Battle.

That's where you are having a disconnect i believe. If you think all games you don't like suck. Then you only really have a devotion to the games you like... not to the overallness of gaming.

Which is fine... as you are a hardcore fan of games... that appeal to you. That's about it though. If you can't evaluate a game outside of "Do I like it." Then I dare say you really arn't able to call yourself a hardcore fan of gaming in general.

Which is the point.  When most people say "I'm a hardcore gamer" they mean "my opinion is better then yours."

Which isn't the case if you can't judge a game outside of "do I like it." 

I play games to have a good time, i really hate people that are like Nazi's to their system it's a joke, i totally agree with the fella who started this post... what happened to the days when you played games to have a good time not the brand name.

Harry Potter was for my girlfriend actually. Though I do technically own it. Smash TV is fun though.  I do like a lot of games though.

Including games that suck... and I know suck.  Like "Collisuem: Road to Freedom".  Fun game, but it doesn nothing particularly well, has a lot of problems and has nothing new in it.  It's still damn fun to play though.
