I think the Japanese term for this is "poppycock".

What he actually meant to say was, "OMG, I'm SO glad we're still the cheapest, we had the price-cut Nintendo Direct pre-recorded and ready to go."

Seriously, the only reason Nintendo consoles hook to the internet is because other consoles were doing it.
