I want some ambassador games :(

Since we're beginning to get well past 6 months with no price cut, I think that ship has sailed.

$100 less: the Deluxe model's main attraction is the game it comes bundled with.

They need to bring down deluxe to $299. Don't even pack in a game, just $299.

I'd argue that without a pack-in $299 is still too much for the system. The Gamepad looks like an even bigger blunder now, when even Nintendo's own games aren't doing anything special with it.

I think they put too much faith in the games they showed at E3. Personally I think those games only cater to the Nintendo fanbase, but the fans will buy the console regardless. IMO

I agree to an extent, but I'm wondering if they're not planning to basically do a "relaunch" once they start actually, y'know, releasing games, and whether a price cut might be part of said relaunch.

Could be PR talk. Announce a price cut now, then expect to have it next week or no one will buy your system until that date of the price cut.

3DS had one at September I believe. Let's see how much that PR statement holds true as holiday nears.

Very true.

yeah but you don't need to pay to play online o_O;

and i wouldnt reeally be looking at a wiiu for multiplayer anyways.

Really? you never played MKWii online? You missed the fuck out son!

just on x360, im too much of a graffics whore. at least i can admit it.

They will never admit to something until they feel its time. There not gonna say yep we have a price cut planned 2-3 months from now. Also it doesnt need a true price cut, just more value.

Basic-discontinued

Deluxe-$299

Deluxe w/NSMBU+Luigi U DLC-$349

Deluxe w/Wii Fit U+Balance Board-$349

The more that I think about it, I wouldn't put too much stock into this. Even if a holiday price drop was already planned, Nintendo would deny it right now as they still want to sell as many units as possible at its current price.

Honestly, I still expect the deluxe model to be retailing for $299 by this holiday.

The way you worded this makes it sound like you played MK Wii for the Xbox 360, lol.

And trust me, once you played MK Wii online graphics didn't matter.  I logged more hours into that game than anything not labeled "COD" (perhaps Left 4 Dead 1 gave it a good run for it's money too in terms of hours played).

Nintendo should relaunch the Wii U. Get rid of basic bundle all together, bring the deluxe bundle down to 299, and instead of Nintendoland have Super Mario 3DWorld.

They don't need a proper price drop. They just need a model with more internal memory, more color options, and some bundles for their holiday lineup.

bundle with wind waker

and this bundle with W101

Obviously a good idea to keep the price what it is. Nintendo can't really afford to take another 3DS to the knee. That might really ruin any of their profit off the console, and I doubt anyone (who is informed of the situation) wants that to happen.

$350 compared to $400 is a difference. $50 is completely enough separation as of right now. It's an over exaggeration that Nintendo is doing "something wrong" here.
