Forums - Gaming - Was Anybody Else Bored by E3 2013?

I have to admit that I found this year's E3 to be really boring even though I watched the X trailer like 1000 times over and finding little details each time. I thought the MS conference was really boring, the Sony one was also quiet boring other than the laughes from them jabbing at the Xbox One and the good price(only to find out later that I need PS+ if I want to play online.....sigh.....), and the Nintendo Direct also wasn't very interesting for the most part other than the X trailer and Megaman in Smash Bros. This was just a really boring year for me =/ What's up with that and does anybody else feel the same way? We obviously need to talk about this!

I need PAX Prime.... E3 was utterly disappointing this year and I can't wait for the end of August when I can finally goto PAX.

Nope it was easily the best since 2009.
All companies had good things to show.

Bored? Kind of, I think unimpressed is mote fitting for me though, gaming as a whole is taking the exact direction I feared; online focus, gimmicks, social nonsense, restrictions up the a-hole, even dumber gameplay and device tie-in's simply for the sake of tie-in's and not because it will heighten the experience one little bit.

Gaming is headed for the toilet as far as I can see.

Well, it's like, there were inconsistencies in the past but there were good ones here and there. I was just generally bored this year all around, am I like, not feeling the goodness here? I mean, there were so many fucking shooters or the same IPs, too many damn shooters really.....

Soooo...you get a good look at a sleuth of games coming out on various platforms, some of which unannounced before; you get the set details for the next generation of consoles; you get an event jam packed with games, returning franchises, new visions for the future...and you're bored?

May I suggest taking a break from gaming and enjoying perhaps a different hobby? Reading's good, anime can have some good stuff, maybe sports? I dunno...I keep seeing a lot of people with this reaction, which to me sounds forced beyond belief, but far from me to judge.

Maybe that's it, I wasn't impressed by many things at all which lead to overall boredom, like I don't even care about it being over where I usually am camping for news all week long.

Final Fantasy XV and KH3 were they only proper trailers I saw at E3. Did not involve a bunch of people just standing/ sitting around talking. E3 was definitely a snore fest

I vote The Order: 1886 worst trailer.
I vote Sunset Overdrive: stupidest trailer.

PS press conference was boring. MS conference was ok but the system sucks. Nintendo didnt show anything that great. I like that one UBisoft MMO title and Dark Souls 2, but overall it was boring.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I already do those things you mentioned, I also snowboard like 6 months out of the year lol, and I also read a lot of manga. It's just that I'm also a PC gamer and this E3 is making me yawn which is just not good =-/ I mean I like what I saw at Best Buy with the Wii U demo, I thought some of the games looked alright, but then there have been so many disappointing news that I think I'm just offset by those.

For me it was ok:

MS: meh
Sony: ok (with the exception of trolling MS, that was amazing)
Nintendo: good (still disappointed about 3D Mario, but Bayo 2 and X make up for that)
