As I was going to play a One game XBox Live
I met a man with seven ex-wives
Every ex-wife had seven Chaps
Every Chap had seven moneyhats
Every moneyhat had seven dev kits
Dev kits, Chaps, moneyhats, ex-wives
How many can play a One game on XBox Live?
Why the fuss about 6 *different* games? Who gives a shit. If it works as communicated, it's an incredible feature either way.

So right now I can take my copy of Last of Us and share it with more than 10 people? And also, the people I share it with can play it at the same time I do? Since it's no different and all.

I agree that it would be huge, but that's because some of you are clearly not paying attention. Microsoft is not making a policy where one of every ten users only needs to purchase a game. They are not adding DRM, 24hr check-ins, very restrictive used sales with 30day mandatory live friendships and so on, just to allow you to have groups of 10users where only one person ever needs to buy a game wordwide. Its just not happening. You're dilusional. They are trying to soften the blow as they transition you all from physical copies you own, can share freely and sale freely to digital distribution where you rent a copy for the life of the console and can't share or resell. This is the halfway point. So they are adding many digital restrictions but also adding some sharing features. One of those is the ability to create essentially a "family" circle of ten individuals. In that group you'll be able to share your library and if they add you to their ten group, you can share their library. However, it follows the same basic principles as if you were all sharing a disc. Meaning only one console can play the game at a time. Its pretty fucking obvious and its exactly what the OP quote is saying. ("6 different people, 6 different consoles, 6 different games") I'm going to laugh come December (or earlier as final language comes out in TOS) when you all realize this very simple premise. You only bought ONE copy of the game and in real life you cannot simultaneously play that ONE copy of the game on two different consoles. You just can't. Try it with any disc game you have. Please, because if you can get it to work, it would be awesome to know how to do. |
I think...that you need to re-read what I wrote. At no point did I even vaguely imply that one person could purchase the game and ten could play it simultaneously. As we understand it at this point it is one between two. I have removed your bolding and added my own, and will give you the opportunity to properly read my post and respond again, if you so choose.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
"Play the one game at the same time" is the key here. It's incredibly beneficial to consumers if proven true.

Yes you can share your copy of Last of Us with 1m people.
Now you can't all play at same time, but you won't be able to do that with the 10 "family" shares either.
it doesn't matter, despite being 499, despite having this horrid used game policy, the xbox one is almost toe to toe with ps4 pre orders in the U.S, microsoft has a huge hold in the US market

But even that is not true. No one will be able to play simultaneously unless your on the same console together. Its not going to give you capabilities that didn't exist currently with the same physical disc.
Also the OP is misleading as the "xboxsupport2" account is fake. Notice it has no blue checkmark.
The legit account actually didn't even answer the question at all and just advised the people asking the question go to their official news article that doesn't even answer this "simultaneous" issue at all.
