Don't think they will end up without some reeditions.

A new model was always Sony's way to go into the second half of the gen with a big bang: console's rehash, price cut, killer line up. They will most probably go with the same scenario this time around. Even if the console itself won't be shrink in size that much, the reintroduction itself is the important part.

The controller looks kinda ugly from the front though. They should have angled it and made it glow.

It can always get smaller probably not much with 22nm chips but once 14nm chips become available it can get noticeably smaller.

I know this is a bit off topic but here's how I see things

MS shows a rectangular box and people call it hideous saying its the worse thing they ever seen.

Sony shows a parallelogram and its the must beautiful luxurious thing in existence.
