Wow, that explains those massive eye bags

The title that I remember that he worked in someway: Killzone 3, God of War III, Uncharted (the first only), Resistance (first and second) and Ratchet & Clank Future (I don't know what specific).

I think there are more lol.

And if you look at the old titles: Crash, Jak and Daxter, Spyro, Sonic, Ratchet and Clank, etc.

That sounds great, AMAZING. I will keep my eyes on the game.

Glad they took that path - for me, what FarCry 1 (and later, Crysis, though on somewhat smaller scale) have done with that approach was best mixture of open world and linear progression - enough freedom to tackle your objectives the way you like, and enough structure to not alienate people not comfortable with completely open world shooters (and I've seen that when FarCry 2 launched, a lot of FC1 fans hated it).

Watched the gameplay video of that open level, and it really reminded me a lot of FC1, in very positive sense.

He is Sony's Miyamoto

Next-gen is almost a total victory for open world.

Nearly all great franchises are switching to an open world approach:

MGS5
The Witcher 3
Dragon Age Inquisition
Mirror's Edge 2
Dead Rising 3
Castlevania LoS 2
Killzone Shadow Fall

And many new IPs are open world:

Watch Dogs
Destiny
The Division
Dying Light
The Crew

I love this trend. I think open world games are more immersive. I think that is you have massive set pieces in an open world (maybe destructible environments) and lots and lots of NPCs and enemies and towns, that is true next gen for me.

I like open world games as long as it clear what to do next. I dont like wandering arround unless I choose to, not because its unclear what to do next.

The gameplay I saw which wasnt much I really liked the the art design, seemed like some of the weapons were similar to somethings I saw in the resistance series. I just hope the story and the characters are a little better in terms of the campaign. Would be nice to see some sort of co-op added to the MP as well.

Nice to hear. KZ3 was a bit dull on my 1st normal playthrough, but sublime on my 2nd hard-mode playthrough. Until the totally unfair, second-to-last on-rail section ruined everything. I've never so quickly given-up on a difficult game section in my life. Later read that the final on-rail level in space was just as tough.
